7 of us so far. how many do you guys think we need to get? 15 - 20 be enough? I wonder if we could have a audio meet for speakers and headphones maybe that would attract more?

Would you be willing to bring most of your gear?

I'm not sure about the Moth amp but I would certainly bring along one or two items for people to try.

7 plus a friend or 2, im going to introduce one of my friends to the joys of good gear (mine is pretty middle of the road in fairness)

Im sure we could host a meet with 10 of us, just need a venue.

Would a pub do the trick, i might have an option?

I dunno about a pub. maybe if they had a section away from drunk people. I am not bringing tube amps near drunk people. wink.gif

Where did you have in mind and where do you live?

Cool.

Still burning them in atm (well, I only started doing them last night after reading this site)

It would be good to hear how my source (my HTC One) and my phone sound with other kit.

We are up to 8 already!

With regards the pub, it is in Dublin and we would need a back room with no drinkers (or drink)

I went to the meet in New York and it was in a back room of a club (which had a bar) but they were kept separate.

Suppose it all depends where people are from. Central location to suit everyone. As much as I love a pint it should be all about the gear. However were still not quite there think you need at least 20-30 people I think the idea of adding speakers to the mix is a great idea.some of those lads believe it or not could be portable amp/headphone virgins and it may open a whole new world to them

Hi all,

I'd be interested - in both cans and speakers. I can probably hold it here at my home if that suits, I'm outside Naas in Co. Kildare. No direct public transport to me (nearest train station is about 6k away) but with some coordination I'm sure we can work out lifts etc. I have 2 rooms suitable for use, one is set up for speakers etc, the other can be easily used for headphones. Most of my stuff is DIY, all sources covered, vinyl, CDP, PC based, valves, solid state, horns, quads, HD650, k701, etc.

There is a local hifi forum here in ireland, I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed link to it from here (last time I posted here was when we set up the forum and after I posted it here that time the thread was deleted by a mod....kinda put me off coming back here tbh) but if you google for "hi end hifi ireland" you'll find it!

We've had a few meet ups once or twice a year, they are good fun, great to meet people etc. Its usually been more about non-headphone stuff, but no reason why it wouldn't be of interest to have both.

Declaration: I'm involved in the trade now, and there are probably plenty of rules about where I can or can't post etc. Don't really want to either upset mods here, or other users etc etc. I have written to jude to ask about a new registration, but haven't heard back yet.

Mods if you want to remove this post, feel free and I won't post again.

Fran
