The CKN70 even with the Philips SHE3590 tips are still too trebly for me; tone doesn't sound right.  I'll probably be selling these.

Right now, my favorite is still the S500.

Give them some burn-in mate, I thought pretty much the same as you when I listened to them out of the box.

Also try some double flange tips, does wonders for the whole spectrum. wink.gif

Plus you shouldn't be really comparing S500 and IEMs. Its not the same.

I just wanna share my new favourite tips for the Bassos: these are the T-PEOS H200 clear silicone stock tips.

It does everything the Meelec double flange tips do + better bass definition (tightness).

My tip rolling chronology for the Carbo Basso:

  1. Meelec M6 Double Flange tips
  2. Philips 3580/90 stock tips
  3. Sony Hybrid tips
  4. Zero Audio DX210 stock tips
  5. T-PEOS H200 clear silicone stock tips

I'm really liking the Carbo Tenore now with stock tips.  I'll try them with the SHE3590.  Can you give me a link for the double flange tips you recommend?

You'd have to get yourself a pair of Brainwavz R1s.

Or you can go for the MEElec double flanges:

Yes that much, i was rather butthurt from it.

The handling fee doesn't sound out of line. They have to open, inspect, repackage and ship your product and make a profit. Sounds like your stupid UK VAT is what you should be upset with. What can I say? Stop voting for liberals. It's not Tenso's fault.

Some people reported earlier that with the double flanged tips on the Basso, the bass becomes looser, but overall more airy and sparkly so people are using them despite the looser bass.

Does it have the same effect on the Tenore?

Treble is smoothed out slightly and bass is a bit looser.

So you prefer it even though the bass is looser?  Why is that?

Mainly because it makes the whole spectrum more balanced.

While the treble still remains detailed and sparkly, just less sharp which is what I prefer.

Cool! The FXT90's - always been interested in them, so looking forward to your impressions, and how "trance" friendly they are :)

p.s. I think that amazon japan is a dangerous place for you my friend!
