Replacment Phones for Sony MDR-V8

Thread Starter
I've been using a pair of Sony MDR-V8 headphones for the past 10 years and one side's almost blown. I use these headphones for TV, Stereo music, and DVD. What I am looking for is a cheaper replacement for these that sound very similar, but without the treble boost that these have......ones that are really effecient, closed, and more natural sounding. I read about these years ago in Consumer Reports and even THEY mentioned about the treble boost, but at the time they were the best deal ($75) that I could find for the money. Please don't respond unless you have hands on experience with these headphones.....because you will not know where I am coming from. I just wonder if Koss makes a good one like I am describing? There's just no place here to try them out. What about the MDR-V6's? How do they compare with the V8s?

wow, look at everyone not responding

Probably because nobodies heard the v8's, and he said himself not to respond unless anyone had hands on experience

The v6's would seem like a good replacement, but they are apparently bright as well, so maybe not.

Thats alright mate, I do exactly the same thing all the time

I remember once going on about headphone amps once because I misread X-Ray as being X-Cans
