Anyone own a telescope? - Page 3

I have a 6 inch F/8 Dobsonian and 10x50mm binoculars for scanning the sky.  For those of you with questions regarding astronomy head over to the forums at www.cloudynights.com  Cloudynights is a great place to learn about equipment and astronomy in general.

I have a 5" Intes Micro Maksutov-Newtonian on an Alt-azimuth mount. Basically a quick grab/go observational setup. Unfortunately the optics don't seem to be working correctly, and I think I need to learn how to collimate it. In cold weather, it traps heat currents horribly and it takes hours upon hours to stabilize to any sort of steady viewing. I'm thinking of looking for something different in the next year or so.
