Ekes review is pretty on point with what I've heard from multiple aurisonics reps. I will most likely stick with the asg2 for the time being and keep my wallet on shutdown till the next asg revision. There is nothing wrong with the asg2 at the moment, so no need for me to upgrade. Although the red is a very nice color to look at, better than my frosted.

Agreed. I'm perfectly happy with my ASG-2 Stealth. Also now that I have the Rockets it is even less reason for me to grab them.

How do you like the Rockets compared to the ASG-2?

That is possibly the most loaded question ever, lol.

In terms of technical performance, the ASG-2s are still better. However they do have some drawbacks for some genres that are limited in the Rockets due to their neutral sig.

The bass for instance is still midbass oriented in ASG-2 (at least compared to subbass). The Rockets are more linear in the bass and still go pretty darn deep. So while the ASG-2s have more impact, and more bass in general, that doesn't bode well for some music where less bass is needed. The Rockets excel there. The vocals on the Rockets are amazing, but don't have that seductive nature they have with the ASG2s. Treble... that's a toss up. The ASG-2s sound metallic sometimes, but still perform well for most genres. The Rockets don't sound metallic at all, but don't have the same sparkle (but still have plenty). Honestly? The two compliment each other exceedingly well. It is almost like Dale planned this.

In short, they are both amazing phones and I'd not trade either for my in ears right now.

Thanks! But a bit too expensive for me just for tips
...Unless of course these are really the ultimate tips

Anyways, these are like orthodynamic IEMs to me, the weightiness of the sound yet still speedy and natural - reminds me of the Hifiman's orthos :)

I have a set of SE846's in for repairs and I'm curious if these could treat me well while I wait (if not become part of the arsenal). I love that deep bass, don't want it humped up into the mids, I'm not concerned with a huge soundstage (I like it intimate). Just wondering if this'll feel like a terrible downgrade or what. Reviews seem promising...
