I am  thinking if I should go crazy on cable upgrade (already using silver stranded cable with RSA to intruder) or just forget about it...

I've heard the Parterre alongside with the ASG2. To me the Parterre sound signature is vastly different from ASG2. To me there's no direct comparison between them as they each house a different sound signature.

if you read my impressions you will find that ASG2 and 1+2 differ a lot and for universal allrounder i prefer 1+2.

as regards cables i found Tralucent gold silver cable sounding very nice. some chaps here might suggest cheaper good cables too.

however i doubt the cable will change sound signature, from my experience gold silver cable cleaned a bit background making ASG2 sound cleaner and a bit lushier... that said the cable also removed a bit of rude mid bass attack transforming this into more timely yet more delicate. unfortunately Tralucent cables costs as much as ASG2 itself.

Thanks! I think if I can improve the treble a bit, it will be good... the bass is already very good now u can hear the bass line very clearly but I think the bass can go deeper so that you can hear/see the musician hitting the string... instrument separation is good but I think it can also be improved by cable upgrade too... but I think 250-300usd would be more reasonable cable upgrade for this pair...

Any cheaper but good alternative cables to recommend for pairing the ASG2? Thanks!

If you're looking for a cheaper alternative I've used this SPC cable on RDB +v1 and TF10 with great success. Its what I'd use personally if I upgraded.

update, i do not have ASG2 anymore, i handed them back to James444.

once again i want to tell my big thanks to Eke who loaned his ASG2 and to James who kindly agreed to share listen time with me.

ASG2 was very enjoyable great sounding eaprhones, i will be missing them a lot, really feel sad i had to give them back. perhaps i will try some other IEMs but there is a good chance i will go back and buy ASG2 or the updated copy. i really can see great value in these babies and they can compliment my portable rig very nicely.

good bye ASG2, i will not forget you. frown.gif

Mimoille, pls stop torturing me, ... frankly speaking Uber is on my wish list, it's only a question of when i will be so brave as to tell my wife how much it costs gs1000.gif

but... ASG2 broke my heart... it is not perfectly accurate IEM, it can miss some small bits, but boy oh boy, these little babies pack so much musical joy and emotion. now i am green of envy thinking H20 still has them and listens to them biggrin.gif (i wish there would be a green smiley without a smile) wink.gif

Hey thanks for the recommendation! Is this a silver plated copper cable? Any idea how it might change the sound? smily_headphones1.gif

So I see a lot of review comparison of ASG-2 vs 1plus2 using the silver/gold cable on both of them. How about the other way round? How "bad" is the sound quality from 1plus2 if it uses ASG-2's stock cable instead? Is it a big downgrade or only a slight decrease in performance?

You know, I didn't hear much of a difference in sound using the ASG-2's stock cable on the 1P2. The difference isn't nearly as large as using the S/G cable on the G-2.

There's no rhyme or reason to the entire thing frown.gif
