Can anyone give a comparison of this to the ultrasone iq? Just out of curiosity. Thanks!

Well for what it's worth I really do enjoy the song still. But on more resolving gear most definitely not.... Hearing it on the radio in the car or at work wasn't so bad. That's what got me hooked to it. But when I got it in full quality and listened on my gear it was a huge letdown.

eke, the only reason Adele is so famous, and her music liked by so many people, is precisely because the mastering of her albums is atrocious — that is, it's not the music that is appealing, but the atrocious mastering quality of her albums. Had the mastering been done right, Adele wouldn't be even half as famous as The Residents (the band).

Now if Adele would cover "Bach Is Dead" & "Elvis & His Boss" - she'd have a shot of becoming a major player in the music industry. Of course, she'd have to put a large eyeball on her head....

So that's why I feel this overwhelming urge to listen to Wonderwall! Thanks for breakin down the often confusing science of musicology so that even a simpleton like myself can "get it." You are truly an asset to these forums Muzak. And yes. those talentless jerks "The Residents" deserve to flounder in relative obscurity. I mean to resort to such gimmicks as costumes to conceal their lack of talent? Please, only true artists like Lady Gaga can ascend beyond their campy trappings

Hmm. I guess the atrocity of her album's mastering is only matched by what your people did...

Inventing the MP3.

Hate to admit it, but that's actually very true. A 320kbps mp3 rip sounds pretty awful compared to a WAV rip of the same track — a night-and-day difference would be quite an understatement here. Now, a WAV rip compared to a HiRes rip of the same track is pretty much like going from 64kbps to vinyl, but I'm sure you knew that already..... (I hope).

Never really liked Oasis (ah, the Cooooool Britannia days!), but Wonderwall is a pretty good track (played to death at the time, unfortunately) and I think Don't Look Back In Anger is a brilliant track.

Always nice to see the legendary band, the Residents, mentioned in a forum, even if it's in reference to their lack of popularity biggrin.gif

The question is - who has Residents MP3's on their HD? I only have 4 off of Duck Stab..... and they are only 128kbps
