I'm gonna out on a limb and say you probably wouldn't like em lol. They're very different from the Rockets. Still waiting on Flysweep to chip in with those G-1+ impressions...

SGS said they're probably the only blue pair in the world. It's a cool color. Hope they retain it moving forward.

Lol I'm sure you're right. I'm just curious as to SGS's impressions on the reported improvements with the 2.5. And the Rockets are a good basis for comparison.

I pretty much hear em the way that Eke hears em. SGS seems to have trouble with the 2.5 treble (what else is new LOL); hopefully he weighs in later. I prefer Rockets by a hefty margin since the 2.5 has too much bass for me. With that said, I'd really like to hear the 2.5 back to back against the 2, and hope that the 1+ is the "Goldilocks" of the trio since I could do with just a bit more treble/bass presence from the Rockets.

Well the Rockets are still my favorite Aurisonics iem and really one of my favorites period. The Rockets midrange is more forward and much smoother and more lifelike treble.

BUT, the ASG-2.5 bass is pretty damn good. Much better than I remember of the 2.0, with excellent sub bass extension and texture (of course I have the vent closed or close to it). In fact the bass is as good as I remember the 1+2 bass.

Maybe Dale ahould consider making a dual dynamic wIth the 2.5 driver for bass and the Rocket driver for mid and treble (as if it's that simple). That would be a seriously fun iem.

As far as I know, this is the only blue 2.5 in existence. But I suspect not for long...

Tomorrow I try the James444 dried alcohol swab filter mod. Hopefully it will tame the 7.2k peak I'm getting just enough for me.

Been saying that ever since I heard the Rockets. Hopefully that's what the secret phone is

I ended up greatly preferring the Rockets more linear and neutral sound, so I decided to EQ my ASG-2.5.  After a few hours I got it pretty close to the Rockets signature with a fuller, deeper hitting bass and bit more treble sparkle.  EQ is with the iOS app Equalizer, using Sennhieser biflange tips and HIfiman filters:

125hz, Q=0.5, -4db

2100hz, Q=1, +3 db

3900hz, Q=2, +2 db

7200hz, Q=5, -6 db

10000hz, Q=1, +3 db

The 2.5 takes EQ like a champ.  This really sounds quite lovely.

Nice. I used to run Vwinter's a G-2 EQ all the time. Really cleaned up the sig and bloat a ton. I'll probably program that into my phone for when I meet up with Cn11.

Why not... a triple dynamics , I mean UM did it, and the 3dds my favourite out of my collection now besides fit issues. I am sure the aurisonic people can do it better

it would be great if you can pass vwinter's eq to try out.

Thanks

Because it isn't necessary imo. If one dynamic can almost perfectly cover the entire FR (I think it can), then two would be more then sufficient. Three drivers adds unnecessary complexity.

Dude, you were supposed to get back to me with where you hear peaks and dips so that I can even it out a bit for you. tongue.gif

For just a bit less bass
125hz, Q=0.5, -3 db

Just eyeballing that, the midrange and treble EQ points are pretty similar to where I had mine, except 10k was like 9k.

The bass section on my EQ was the huge departure here.

But I wasn't trying to make it sound better per se.

Edit: G-2, not the 2.5, just for clarification.
