[REVIEW] Aurisonics ASG-2 & 2.5 (with many comparisons) - Page 37

Certain audiophile players are good, I know the iBasso one measured well, many with ludicrous claims are actually just bad. Sources are suppose to transparent, if they show a lack of detail is because that's the result of the chain. Clips and Apples aren't amazing but they are good and not average or bad.

The DX100 is a great sounding player but it has too many faults for me. The size, battery life, the amp section wasn't to my liking (preference), UI. I"m also a stickler for sources measuring well but at the same time I'll let my ears ultimately decide if its good or not. I still look forward to demoing the tera player and although it doesn't measure well I'm pretty sure it sounds damn good and the owners of such units aren't victims of placebo-effect or illusion of grandeur ;).

I think everyone would like a perfect measuring player myself included, but that doesn't stop me trying other DAP''s, which you can see the list on my profile. The Clip+ is very average and lacks detail and soundstage. I'm not about to get into any measurement wars about this or even remotely interested in what the OP used. D what you want, discuss until the cows home about it. I listen with my ears and know to well the Clip+'s limitations, it doesn't stop me using it out and about, but for serious listening those who rely on one will never move forward.

So what has an OI of 2 or less with a perfectly flat FR, and minimal distortion? Genuinely interested. I'd love to move on to something better. ASG-2 needs a well performing source for sure.

DX100, AK120 to my knowledge?, RWA AK100. Has anyone measured the Hifiman 901?

When I find one I'll come and tell you, until then I'll take what's out there, personally, I will say keep a close eye on iBasso's upcoming DX50 and hope it has the measurements you desire.

AK120 is worse than AK100, despite the lower OI, it has IMD issues.

Well then my ears must be defective because I like it quite a bit more than the RWA AK100 ;).

That's ok. I'd rather not downgrade and hinder the sonics of my IEMs ;).

While we are at it, WHY U NO GIMME SOME Samsung LUV!?

My Note 2 has less than 1ohm OI (0.9) and last I check also measured very well @goldenears!!  It pairs extremely well with my 334.  Sound better with 334 than an AK120+RE400!!

Can I Get some Samsung love?!   deadhorse.gif

lol I'd hope the 334s sound better than the RE400 :P. From the looks of it you don't use your leather case with your AK120?

i listened to 1+2 and RDBv1 at lengths and i cannot agree to the conclusions in this review. i have not heard the other IEMs in this review so i am curious may be to do so in future.

the source i use is RWAK+T1 amp. i also know at least about one headfier who sold his TG!334 and kept 1+2.

Out of curiosity, which parts don't you agree with? The RDB model he used seems to be different from yours and his description of the 1plus2's sound signature is mainly in comparison to the ASG-2, which I haven't heard.

But by and large, I can relate to his 1plus2 impressions.
