Good to see the logo colored in on the standard shells. Looks good in that pic.

Don't be a tease! So how does it sound?

Nice! Looking forward to whether you detect any changes in sound

The cable look different too ??

Yeah that little color on the shells made them look much better than the older frost but, if I remember correctly, the logo was impressed into the shell on the original right?  This one is just printed on which I have to admit, is a bit disappointing.  For the asking price of $500-600, I feel that could have been handled differently.

I havent had the original 2 in a few weeks so I may be off but sound wise, still has the non-fatiguing highs (a tad bit dark). Bass seems better controlled from what I can remember.

also just using the stock biflanges.  I have other tips at home that I used with the 2 that i will have to try out.  I have a feeling the highs are going to open up a little more than with the 2, but we'll see.

Different cable completely I think. Mine was black if I remember correctly.  The cable itself seems pretty standard.  The ear guides are shorter than the original.

The original has insanely long ear guides. Would be interesting to know just whay happened between the 2 and the 2.5. If the main difference is a new cable I'd be very disappointed. But still relieved because I can save my upcoming money smily_headphones1.gif

The cable isn't unique to the 2.5 though. They switched to the new cable after a while, as well as the colored logo.

I'm not sure that's the 2.5. Especially if it doesn't sound much different from what you remember, and the CEO of the company saying the 2.5 hasn't been released to anyone yet.

edit: okay got in contact with them and they said it IS the latest revision of the ASG2 so it does have the updated 14.2 dynamic and the updated BA drivers.  That being said, sound wise, I cannot confirm a difference because my main setup is the DX50 > O2 at home.  At work, I have a PCStep from Meier which might be (probably is) darker than the DX50 + O2.

I was told the official announcement/new website is coming within a month so I would hold off until then if you are thinking of purchasing.

That is the unofficial official statement.  I would not go by what dealers are saying since it seems everyone has a different understanding of what is going on.
