Damn. The name is half the fun.
The Namis sound good, though, even if the name isn't as fun to say. They are close to the sound o my Kaede (close, but the Kaede IS better). Gonna keep the Kaede and sell the Nami....
Thanks for the suggestion. I looked into that one before, but heard it can be a bit bright, but I'll recheck it. One Headfier who has the AS2 finds the RE400 and RE600 to be a nice contrast also to the Aurisonic house sound.
True, but it's a very tasteful kind of bright...IMO of course. It has the ability to portray incredibly holographic images in what seems like infinite space. The timbre is also great.
I've never heard the new hifiman phones, but I hear good things about their value.
That was me that soundbear was referring to in regards with the RE400/RE600 being a nice contrast with the AS/G/2. When we were communicating via PM, I described my AS2 being extremely fun sounding with energy, non-fatiguing, with a slight warmish and dark sound signature that expresses itself with bass quantity and huge stage (to my ears). Where as the RE400/600 holds its own with a more detailed, intimate, and overall balanced presentation, with the 600 trumping the 400 on both extension ends (treble and bass) especially when amped or testing the effects of scalability.
I agree that the ER4S or any other iem with a flatter sound compliments well with the AS/G/2. Both a fun and analytical type iem/ciem should be in every head-fier's arsenal for musical enjoyment and to effectively accommodate towards one's change in temperament.
It's been a while since I've owned the RE-272, but I would say it would contrast well. Falls in the same bucket as the ER4S to my ears. Personally, other than for sentimental reasons (a gift maybe) I don't keep universals that are out of production and/or don't have removable cables.
It's cool, I actually can't use the triple flange either. I use doubles. Many people have good luck with comply as well, Ts100 or P.
hi, i have asg-2 frosted shell..
I love the sound quality of ASG-2, & i still don't get why anyone wont love the sound..
if the sub bass is slightly increase, it will be a retirement IEM.. but overall, worth every penny with the sound quality
i dont know about you guys, but my frosted version kinda have bad built quality.. there are finger print on the shell.. & the plastic looks cheap...
and the worst part.. i break my right ear IEM shell on the recessed socket side, just because changing the cable, without force..
luckily, i managed to glue it.. & because it was frosted version, the glue was camouflaged by the frosted body..
at the left ear IEM, i can see thin crack line just waiting to break on the recessed socket shell side..
