I don't really hear all this detail or resolution on the ASG-2s, just a big scoop starting in the upper midrange and lasting up until about the area of cymbals at ~10khz, where it rolls off not too far after.

Edit: Okay, after listening to some of Abbey Road by The Beatles, I can see that the ASG-2s sound really good with the guitars in the first few songs I've listened to so far.

Try the ASG 2s with those clear Ortofon tips, it made all the difference in the world for me, esp. comparing them to the garbage stock ones. I labeled all the plastic bags that holds those tips but not sure if muppet kept it the same or not. Enjoy these ASG 2s meng!!!

Hmm, okay, will do. Are the gray bi-flanges ortofons or Aurisonics tips? That's what I've been doing all my listening with...

Probably some other mystery aftermarket tips, it could be ASG as well but the ortofons tips only comes in clear white single flanges me thinks.

Idk, I heard Eke's pair and my impression of the upper mids and cymbal range was pretty much the same as yours.

Also, people's criteria for "technical superiority" may differ quite widely from one another.

Well, what can i say? I enjoyed them. God rest my soul, I enjoyed ASG-2. If you read the rest of my post last page before a short snippet was quoted from it I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong here, nore judging anyones opinion on the meaning of 'superiority' simply stating the pair I heard were very much along Eke's impressions, and I think many of us know Eke and I haven't agreed on everything. I really don't mind if mechgamer hears them that way, I'm not going to come in this thread and try and prove otherwise or push an opinion. Well, not as some may seem they want to.

Quite true good sir. My definition for "technical superiority" is probably just different from others.

sfwalcer, I tried the ortofon tips and I do indeed hear more treble! It sounds like the 10k peak was increased a bit though.

Lol, no need to get melodramatic my friend. All I'm saying is that ear variation is a lot more common than product variation. ;)

Btw, mechgamer, don't feel like your thoughts aren't welcome in here. I appreciate everything you have to say, as it helps me when I'm forming my own opinion, and I tend to look for these flaws more closely. I'm just the type to contest when I feel like something doesn't add up.

With golden ears like mine even the technically retarded EX1000 doesn't sound bad :)

Wow the K3003 is a lot smaller than i remember it to be

we shall await patiently for the review.

Quick question though, how's the fit of the sony hybrids? I loved the sound of the EX600 and 1000 but my God those were not made for my ears

Ive noticed the impressions on this thread vary quite a bit so If tips make such a big difference in the sound, why doesnt anyone also assume it is their source that makes the ASG-2 have different impressions across the board? Although its a given that the source changes the sound, with the G2, its sound changes immediately and is very apparent depending on which source it is used with, which could explain why it has gotten some not so good reviews.
