I won't have the price difference in mind when comparing. I just listen for what differences are there and report them.

I think Rhapsodio's RDB2v1 would also be a close performer to ASG2 and 1plus2 and it's price sitting somewhere in the middle closer to the "$500" waterline. Surprisingly I don't see much mention of it outside of the Rhapsodio thread itself...

Rhapsodio RDB+ 2v1 added to second post. Spoiler alert: it's not good.

Poor eke wow you really don't like the Rhapsodio do you! Need to try it out myself sometime as I was having serious interest and this is probably the first negative harsh review I read on them!

Did you demo'ed it before purchasing and when did you got yours? I read they had been tweaking the sound (or was that the v1?) which made it hard to follow reviews and impressions.

The v1 has been tweaked a fair bit. I'm not sure about the v2. But the v1 has a minimum of 3 versions that really, it shouldn't be called the v1 anymore.

Yeah, I'm actually pretty disappointed.

It's part of the loan tour package that also includes the Shozy amp (very nice).

I don't know how many revisions there have been, but I hope this isn't the last one.

Ah, ok. Thanks for clearing that up.

Sounds like a DBA-02 with a sub. The graphs kinda looks that way too.

Eke do you think you'd like the 2v1 if it had more bass? It seems like it might have a smaller treble peak than both the ie800 and flat-4.

I don't think the issue is a lack of bass...the dynamic driver takes care of that. It's the mids and highs that are problematic. Cymbals sound unnatural, vocals are sometimes nasal and distant, and there is a severe lack of PRAT.

It really is your stereotypical high-strung TWFK, with a sub-woofer thrown on. I don't really feel like they entered into the design process with any specific goals in mind.

That description sounds a bit like the v1 as well.

Just picked up the 1Plus2. I'll try to have comparisons up tonight or tomorrow.

Looking forward to it eke! I'm wondering if your impressions will be the same as mine.

Can someone please take a photo of the Ortofon tips for me? Is it the black gel tip I see on amazon? I would appreciate it. Thanks.
