Bailiff, please escort Idsync's ASG-2 to the Post Office.

That's what I figured but how is he sure I would even like SD3's? Lol.

Edit: I exchanged PM's with sinth regarding the SD3. It was my impression they would be too bass heavy from our talks. He however might think they will work for me given our exchange. I don't think I would like the SD3, thought he understood this, and wanted him to clarify.

Damn, should have deducted another point. The poeticism masked the problem well. Life.

Anyone have any ideas concerning dampening/filtering material to take down that 10k spike a tad? My sensitive ears haven't allowed me to use my ASG-2 in the last two days even at low volumes. I've tried cotton (too much, wrong frequencies), tissue, nylons... I might have to get some actual acoustic material.

Also, I'm on board about the sub-bass. I feel like it could be better- but indirectly. If the mid-bass was toned down ever so much, you probably would discern the sub-bass better. They extend superbly (listen to the last few seconds of Giorgio by Moroder on the latest Daft Punk album, and you'll see), you just gotta listen for it and fiddle with the bass ports to find that sweet spot. It's been a while since i had the ASG-1.2, but I recall the sub-bass being slightly more isolated, but that could just be a trick of the memory.

It's not as obvious on the ASG-2 as the Atrios, but the Atrios are missing a good chunk out of the middle and top end - the bass is LOW and tight. The ASG-2 does it all.

I just gotta tone down those highs without resorting to an EQ, and hope this ringing goes away. I wasn't even listening beyond 50% volume on my IPhone 4.

Try cutting up a tea bag and put a circle of it over the nozzle, then put the tip on. The tip will hold it in place. Worked wonders on the IE800.

And with such an air of weathered wisdom! I'm almost tempted to buy the SD3 myself, just based on the je ne sais qoui of his confident speech. Such omlette du fromage!

Never mind that I've heard both side by side for days.

When will this mod be available to the public? I would love to hear more subbass.

I meant for his highs. Cross valve mod going to be a while very hard to get parts made for these.

He's probably referring to the highs around 8-10k.

Edit: Darnit Dale lol. (if I may)

Part—only part—of the reasoning behind it goes more or less like this:

1.  It's made in Germany — oh boy, it's got to be good!

2.  Apparently, several people on a German forum seem have a good opinion of the SD3s. (haven't checked said opinions myself, don't know how many people exactly have said opinions, what their experience is, or if other members from said forum may not think that highly of the SD3s).

3.  Someone borrowed the very flattering term "Hype-Fi" from another 'underground' forum to refer to Head-fi — and that certainly will always make you look veeeery cool and even knowledgeable in certain circles. (though, interestingly enough, all of these people still visit and/or post on Hype/Head-Fi).

I was sarcastically praising Sinth using French phrases that are nonsensical in this context. lol
