Definitely. It seems as if it's using the DDs for only the bass/sub-bass, and the TWFKs for everything else.

I'm sure its been asked or stated before, but I missed it.

What is the sound difference, if any, between the ASG-2 and the AS-2?

Of course, besides the obvious that one would give an excellent seal because of being a custom.

Anyone??

The bolded itself will create sound differences.  The differences will actually vary from person to person.

That would be a good thing imo, unless the treble is all spiky in typical twfk fashion.

Yeah, it can be for sure... Likewise, fullness can be a good thing too, if it is not congested and tubby sounding.

Should have an invoice for my ASG-2 tomorrow... Stealth plate, variable bass vent, and (hopefully) polished inserts!! Stoked beyond all reason and measure... an emotion that can only be described as:

And yes, I heart puns. Back offa me. ;)

I wouldn't really say it's spiky.

Since the Pacers beat the Heat, I'm a little too pumped to sit still long enough to do a comparison tonight. I'll have it up tomorrow.

Btw how are those ASG-2 impressions coming along? biggrin.gif

Just getting my first listen this morning. Need a bit of time to get the feel of the sound, and run through tip options.

I'd also like to wait until the 334's and BTG cable get back from loaner.

That should be interesting. When I demoed the ASG-2 and the 1P2 side by side at the NY Meet I liked both, even the 1P2 a bit more. But I didn't hear the $600 price difference.

Can't wait to hear your impressions eke!

The price difference is $950 for the ASG-2 to 1plus2.

Yeah, I don't hear that either!

Seriously, it's bonkers.

Like I said in my review, the ASG-2 (along with high performing $500 and below iems) are pretty much the point after which diminishing returns start to get painful.

I won't have the price difference in mind when comparing. I just listen for what differences are there and report them.

This is what I've always suspected. Top-tier universals seem like the value sweet spot for those who want real quality sound but don't have tons and tons of cash to play around with.
