I can't speak for the former two but the latter one floored me when I demoed it in NYC. I A/Bed it with my J3>Arrow 4G and was just all around impressed. I wish I had my ASG-2s at that point, but I can't imagine them not sounding better from the HM901. That said, for my purposes and needs, the battery life and size would prevent me from ever pulling the trigger on them.

From my short listening session last night, the ASG-2 does not lack for authority at all straight out of the iPhone 4S. It sounds fantastic.

I haven't heard it from the LOD > QuickStep yet but I expect differences if any to be minimal with the G-2. With it said that the StepDance family of amps are exceedingly neutral and transparent, this is really a testament to the integrated amp in the 4S. For anyone interested, the only differences on other IEMs that I could ABX are that the iPhone integrated amp's near field imaging is a bit flatter and that treble is a little less smooth, ie not much. Having the volume knob is awesome though lol.

Will update.

Update to question above:
I really liked the sound out of the 901 but it was playing 24/192 files some of which were binaural. But I still thought it sounded great.

I actually own the AK120 and owned the dx100 and hear them as being clearly better than my apples and Cowons, but I was asking Shigzeo more from a technical point of view.

I don't doubt that. However I imagine its more because of better dac implementations, not necessarily amp sections.

I'm finally getting around to cleaning up my apartment after the break in, and I'm listening to my ASG-2 (silver/gold cable). I've been in a sort of downer mood this morning (thanks idsync), but then Mumford and Sons' Timshel rolls around on shuffle. The realness of his voice and the lyrics made me shed one of those cliche single tears from one eye that rolls down your cheek.

Then A$AP Rocky's Fckin Problems rolls around and I'm back to dancing.

I like the T1. It's just pure and transparent, with a dead silent background.

okay assuming that the C5 would be easier for me to get. is the T1 better than the C5 ? under the fact that they both have to be paired with the ASG-2 which has better "synergy"

ok so its much better than the C5 right ? under the condition that they have to be paired with a ASG-2 , cuz its a big price leap for me

the C5 is like S$230 and the T1 is S$389 , i prefer something cheaper but if the T1 is that much better then id go for it ?

and in anycase thanks Eke youve helped me quite alot =)

I honestly have no clue hot the C5 compares. I just hear the T1 as pure, uncolored, extra power. It's a no nonsense amp.

funny, people are different and so are their ears... i find iPhone4 or 5 not good for source and i can clearly hear the improvement with T1 and even cheaper amps. much depends on IEM resolve but for me iP4 alone sounds mushed, warmish, shallow and so dull... Excuse me guys but of many Apple products i have at home iPods and iPhones are the least that excite me.

Aka, expectation bias. It's amazing that an amp section that measures DEAD flat can sound warm.

I have the T1 here, and there's zero tonal difference between it and my iPhone 4.

Go have another listen.

Anyone with the ASG-2 going to the Los Angeles meet?

I've been planning on picking up some Cosmicears customs when the return from vacation, but these reviews are making me wonder if the ASG-2 is the way to go.

I'd love to demo them.

Holy imaging, batman. Although, flysweep posted this track in the beginning of the thread.

Is it just me, or does the g2 ascend to another level with live music recordings?
