That is why people hate beats. BTW I'm getting Sennheiser HD 598.

Well, if you want to get them back, ask them to describe the sound signature using technical terms, then giggle as they have no idea.

"beats are the best headphones ever!"

"Oh, really? How's the soundstage? Are the highs sparkly or dull? How is the attack? Do they have good transparency?"

"Uhh... no idea what those mean, but they have good bass!"

"Boomy or punchy?"

*Blank stare*

"Thought so."

Just tell them that headphones can only take you so far. Ears are the ultimate "weakest link" in a head fi setup and its obvious yours are sonically superior to theirs on all levels. You wont be disappointed with the HD 598. I have the 595 and amp driven they sound incredible for 200$ cans. Expect a long burn in though.

might be a bit off track but the plague known as beats have crossed the ocean. It is ridiculously popular here in korea. I see them everywhere because some gold medalist from the olympics swimming came out in public wears these. Now they are all the rage. The funny thing is almost no one here in korea knows who dr. dre is but they still sell ridiculously well.......

I know. Damn, all my old friend has an pair. I couldn't save them. I blame the Korean audio society for that. Many reviewers claims the beats to be very well performing for K-pop. I obviously find this to be bull ****, as the same reviewers also said that SRH940 was crap.

Also selling well in Korea is Soul by Ludacris. No ****ty owners knows who he is. Just an dumb idol group wore it, so it's famous for having great sound.

Sigh.. Koreans. The Olympic swimmer was Park Tae Hwan. G Dragon from Big Bang was in the ad for the Soul headsets. But then again when listening to K Pop you don't need much.. It's all the same anyway rolleyes.gif

I don't get why all the Koreans say that(I'm a Korean too). I mean, there is clear difference between well recorded and passionate recording(like that of Younha and other "singers") and crappy "idol" recordings. It kind of annoys me how people say that all Korean musics are the same.

lol who knows. I am korean myself but i don't really listen to korean music much but all the music i hear in public is pop idol music that does sound pretty similar in my opinion as well. Kinda reminds me how all the popular pop music they play in america all the time on radio/public is garbage as well.

Lol. It's kind of true. Everyone listens to idol pop. Kind of sad because there are great singers in Korea.

lol is that supposed to be a troll comment? Although its debateable if srh940 is a better value than srh840 there is no way either of them would lose to the beats.

Not to say the beats are so terribly sounding its just that for the price point the beats offers, why buy the beats?

This thread even being here is wrong. The OP was so off it doesn't even compute to me how he figured out how to make a profile.

I swear I'm not trolling. I wholeheartedly believe that. It's funny how just because I say I prefer beats means I must be a troll. I prefer the solos and studios to the ath m50s. I'll admit the vmoda m80 is better than the solo but not the studios.
