LOL, I'm doing this almost every night since I own both. :beerchug:

I'll probably write a comparison here sometime in the future...

Short answer:

For LCD-X, HPA-21 - Taurus: 1 - 0.

For HE-6, HPA-21 - Taurus: 0 - 1.

IMO, YMMV etc.

It would be interesting to compare HPA-01 with Taurus since they are in the same price range.

Vega + HPA-21 + SW + LCD-X is pure magic! :D

I'm very interested in the Bakoon HPA-21.Does anyone have experience sourcing directly from an Oppo BDP 95?

That is the only source I use for listening.

I also live in Toronto, and am not aware of any local dealers, so the inevitable battery replacement issue has me a little concerned , even with that eventuality being years after the purchase.

The great reviews for the the pairing with the TH -900  & Audeze is very encouraging, as I own a TH-900 and am in the midst of deciding between the Audeze X, XC , or 3.

Can't comment on the Oppo BDP 95, but I'm from Toronto, ON as well and ordered from jaguaraudiodesigns. They include free shipping to Canada. Their customer service is really great (been dealing with Darin).

Used it with the LCD-XC and TH900, both pairings are absolutely amazing.

I have the HPA-21.

Battery is user replaceable and fairly common model.

Mine is sourced on the AMR777

 It was already on my radar.I didn't buy until speaking to Darin at JaguarAudioDesign, and of course scanning the web for anything Bakoon , not to mention the help of a friendly Toronto head-fi'er.Reading how well it matches with my current Fostex TH-900 , and my future Audeze 3,X. or XC made the decision easier. The battery issue was my last hurdle to become comfortable with , but it's really no issue at all.

Did someone tried the AlphaDOG with the Bakoon HPA-21 ? Is the synergy as good as with the TH900 ?

Just wondering , I was told by the salesman the HPA -21 requires 100 - 200 hrs burn in , and that it may sound " crappy" at times during this process.Of course this was said to me after the amp was shipped  and may be a safeguard concerning their 30 day return policy.I probably listen to my HPs  about 15 hrs pr wk on average , so the math dictates a hastily made decision within the return window. What are your experiences with burn in with this unit?

I fully expect to be very happy with the amp, but just wondered what fellow owners experiences were.

Mine was excellent from Hour 1. After 100 + hours, don't hear any difference.

Well,my HPA -21 arrived today , lost its virginity to a Mobile Fidelity, Original Master cd of The Who : Who Are You.I gave it a whooping 1/2 hour to warm up, and used the current low gain setting with my TH-900 :p

I'm looking forward to my usual late night session this evening
