Fiio E07K and iPod Nano 3rd gen

I hate to be the newbie constantly asking for advice, but I'm in serious need at the moment. Do any Head-Fi'ers that stumble upon this thread know if the Fiio E07K amplifier/DAC will CONVERT a digital audio signal from specifically a 3rd-generation iPod Nano? It's come to my attention that my exact model of iPod has one of the worst internal DACs in the Apple lineup, but I want to be sure the external device in mind will even do the job I need it to do. If it won't, the Fiio will be nothing but an amp, which I already have in the form of an E11. Help, please!

What about a 7th generation iPod Classic? If you know.

If you want to `pull` a digital signal from an ipod (preferably a later generation ipod/iphone/touch) you need a CLAS (+amp), Fostex hp_p1, Go-Dap/godapX, Verza/or Vamp or  Sony PH1.

The fiio products will only work as an amp( even the e7/E07k)
