Yeah, I also purchased it from him coz it's like 30% cheaper than the headphoniaks' price and headphoniaks is out of stock anyway. Did you ask him for the number? Mine is No.157.

Well, I'm still waiting but by the time we receive it to answer your question, it will most likely be out of stock even if you're considering getting the limited edition. All Vsonic iems are prone to some sibilance but actually VSD1S is one of the better vsonic iems in that regard. Of course, there is still possibility that the limited edition is even less prone to sibilance.

From what I know, all VSD1 LE should have a number (laser printed?) on the right earpiece. Mine is 964.

Well, he probably wants to be surprised, so he doesn't want to know his number in advance.

Btw, I was checking taobao for the limited edition and these guys have some nerve - they sell it for 550 yuan ($90) and the guy, who's selling No.444 actually wants $115 for it.

I'm so torn: I have the VSD1 and I'm tempted to get a LE but already have my eyes on either the MA750 or Dunu DN1k (or a new hybrid type) for my next purchase come Christmas time. Will I be missing much not getting the LE? I also have the GR07BE which I enjoy very much.

Wanted to know that too.

Well, that's a tough one. As I said, by the time we get the VSD1LE and review it you probably won't be able to get one anymore coz it will be out of stock. It's one of this occasions that you have to make a tough decision quickly without much feedback. I was checking Chinese posts and opinions but you can't get anything meaningful from them. Most of them just consider it decent for the money and they've bought it a lot cheaper. The thing is that even though vsonic has been selling the VSD1 well in China, the bulk of Chinese consumers have an inherently low opinion on domestic iems like VSD1 and mostly just consider them decent for the money at best (and the VSD1 is like 33 bucks there). And it seems most of the Chinese "audiophiles" are only interested in brands like Sennheiser, AKG, Audio Technica, Sony etc. This is funny coz Vsonic has been focused entirely on their domestic market but they get the praise and appreciation they deserve mostly from the international consumers, who are relying on ebay to get hold of the vsonic products at a premium price.

Hell, when I first wrote my initial impressions on the VSD1 here I remember they were quoted in a Chinese thread and the users there were pretty much making fun of me wearing it in reverse (the pic with me wearing it over-the-ear) and were wondering why Western people are buying Chinese iems and on top of that gladly pay more.

If I were you, simple get rid of VSD1(sell off) and invest on LE. worth doing that.

Thanks for the responses. I will be passing on the LE since it's still 80% of the GR07 sound, which I already have. I think if you want the exclusivity of owning a 1/1000 unit or if you have yet to own one of the VSD1 variants and want an amazing IEM then this offer is worth jumping on.

Well, I don't know about that. While there isn't much incentive to own both the VSD1 and VSD1S coz they aren't that different, the Limited Edition supposedly is. According to the Vsonic's CEO the VSD1LE has been tuned like VSD7 and in a way is a demo version of its sound.

I see. Thanks for that correction. bigbargainonline has 5 left...and impressions after burn in has not shown up yet. But I bet once impressions are in and favorable, it's a race to snatch up the rest.
