Hey mate, yeah they do feel much more comfy over ear.

However, with the M6 bi-flanges I'm managing to get very good levels of comfort and isolation wearing the FXT90s down.

Well, wearing over ear is the best option for me due to my small ear canal. It helps to hold them in place better and also minimize microphonics. Good to hear you found a suitable tips for your pair. Cheers.

I suppose they are slightly warm. I think I feel that the clip zip is neutral because it seems like it when compared to the ELE DAC lol (got the ol' Hifimediy sabre dac on the way - excited to try it!).

At any rate, it's slight warmth is probably why I like it's synergy with the C&C BH so much (the BH brightens things up somewhat).

Do you meant that there is not need to channel swap because they are intended to be worn over ears? Or do you simply mean that it's not a big deal to have the channels swapped the wrong way? Because if it's the latter, I thought the same thing. But then Kova4 got into my head, and it really started bugging me that the channels were not the way as intended and I started noticing it. Bad Kova4 lol!

Are the VSD1's as smooth as Tenore?

I prefer fun sound not too smooth.

Here's some VSD1 thoughts that I posted in the GR07 thread:

The treble doesn't have the same micro details as the BE's, but it is also not as bright as with the BE's (which I found to be a bit fatiguing). I find that I am preferring the treble of the VSD1's even without the micro details. So in summary, even though the VSD1's might technically only have 80% of the SQ of the GR07's, some (aka me) may actually prefer them over the BE's. Other benefits: $38 (when I bought them), and they can either be worn down or over the ear. The funds saved have allowed me to purchase some other higher end iem's. So I get the VSD1's (which I prefer) plus something new for my ears.

Interesting.

I am still confused as hell! ha ha

It seems they have a pretty different signature anyway, so the 80% claim was just marketing BS, exactly as I'd anticipated.

Nah, it's not as much the signature as it's the presentation.

Hmm, pretty sure they are more energetic. Plus have a wider soundstage too.

How should message DannyBai with these questions mate he's got all 3.

Does the VSD1 suffer from the same shallow depth of soundstage as the the GR07?

Well, I would call it average not shallow but yeah, like the gr07 the width is better than the depth.

My VSD1's arrived today, have been following this thread so thought I should chime in with some first impressions for those still undecided to try to give back to the community shall we say...

I have owned the original GR07's since they were a new product, and like most people who have/had them I think they're great, although I always found the bass to be lacking a tiny bit for my taste. I guess this is likely a reason why they made the GR07BE. In terms of IEM's I have previously owned the Vsonic GR02 (first series, not pro?) many years ago, have also had Head Direct RE0's, and Ultimate Ears Superfi 5vi if that is of any relevance at all.

Onto my thoughts. Bass! First thing I noticed. The depth, quality and impact of bass is very very good, especially considering the price. It is not at all bloated. I should say I am not a basshead, but do not like dry analytical headphones, so this is a very welcome feature. There is certainly a slightly warm sound as described by VSonic, certainly compared to the original GR07's, however it does not really negatively impact the mids, nor does it overwhem the music. The overall sound is smooth, with high's very slightly recessed compared with bass/mids and this prevents any noticeable sibilance or harshness.

Very quick/rough comparison with GR07: The sound of the VSD1 definitely is more 'fun' to my ears. Detail is obviously not as good, though not by a long way, and it seems like the soundstage of the VSD1 is smaller than the GR07's. Build quality is slightly worse with a thinner cable and smaller jack compared with the GR07, but this should come as no surprise. As with any headphones it depends on the music you listen to, but I think for many people the VSD1 may be a much better choice considering the more 'fun' sound, and the significant price difference. Highly recommended.
