hi there, anyone here can confirm me that if listen careful u can here the background static while using the VSD1/S, I'm not sure how to describe it but it sounds like the PL30 I used to have, maybe because of the high sensitivity?

I don't hear any of that, this will mainly depend on your DAP and recording of the music ie 128 vs 320 and above. If you put crap in you get crap out! You are more than likely hearing the noise floor of the player you are using, but sometimes it can be the sensitivity of the IEMs but I have money on the DAP.

thanks a lot^^. I am kind of new to the audiophile world, I wanna improve the sound quality of my iPhone 5, would an portable amp bring any improvement to the sound quality of the VSD1S on iPhone 5? Or I have to purchase a DAC. Can anyone give me some advice?biggrin.gif

Get a FiiO E11 HP Amp along with a Line-Out-Dock (LOD) cable like FiiO L3/L9. You will get answers. The cable will bypass built-in HP amp, using just Apple's DAC and signal fed to fiio amp. The amp has all the bells and whistles that you need like gain,eq,replaceable battery. The total price would be <$80-$90 max.

Fwiw read my review on the vs1ds and hrt microstreamer (in my signature), but iphone hp out is quite nice on its own.

NAh, he can't. Iphone 5's lightning connector is only digital, so you can't use fiio LODs as it doesn't have line-out. So unless he goes for an iphone compatible DAC/amp combo, most of which are in the $500 range he can only double amp through the headphone-out or go for a bulky lightning to 30pin adapter connected to a LOD but then the crappy DAC in the lightning adapter is used and not the one in iphone 5.

so I guess I'm gonna stay with the iPhone and save money for a better DAP like iBasso DX50 for example? What do you think about the sound quality output of the iPhone 5?

It's not bad for a phone but if you have the extra cash you might want to check the new dedicated DAPs like fio x5 or the ibasso dx90
