It all depends on my mood. What other models to look for? Or VSD1 - the best choice? I hope for your help. Thanks.

I assume you mean the jvc fx3x. It depends on your preferred sound signature. The fx3x are quite good for the price. Fairly v shaped signature. Very strong bass and forward highs. I like the fx3x bass, but after a while it becomes a bit fatiguing for me. The vsd1 variants are definitely a step up the audiophile scale - much more balanced and refined, and I think that they are very good bang for buck. Also, they are much smaller in the ears, so you can actually lay down with them on.

Another option you might want to look into is the recently super-nova-hyped Pistons for $20-$25. Lots of positive comments in the Discovery thread:

Wayne makes sense. The Piston would be a perfect option. Absolutely great for any genre, and especially for metal because of the edgy mids and clear articulate highs.

Please keep in mind that's IEMagnet01's opinion. I haven't heard the Pistons so I can't say.

We're not talking the original version. The original version doesn't have the same wire, color, or driver. The driver on the new one is a beryllium driver, gold in color, with Kevlar wires. You must purchase Piston 2.0. The NEW gold version, and there are plenty reputable dealers. You ask and we 'll provide .

Good you pointed that out. I see no reason to get the old model.

The 2.0 from Ibuygou that's confirmed legit for usd19 shipped worlwide would be reason enough not to worry about the old model or counterfeits.

i like the foam ones. the rubber/silicon ones falls off easily for me and does not have a good seal. But he foam ones are easier to get dirty so make sure to clean your years often.

The Piston kick the VSD1 and VSD1S around like a puppy who tinkled on the floor. BETCHA LIFE!
