The comments about the LEs coming with less, costing more and having a higher impedance are correct.

If I had known about how much more power they need, I might not have paid extra to buy them.  At this point in their break-in, and without amping, I'm not convinced that they are as good as what I already have.

* Because more of us are still yet to complete the burn-in process to discover about it's fullness of sound and some are kinda lost their attention and patience due to this long period involved. Some might have gave up for now even and try whenever they find time . I'm just guessing..

The price is ok IMHO for it's performance, accessories etc, there's no complaint. Remember we can enjoy 80% of GR07's sound signature for 1/3rd of GR07 price.

**Exactly, it definitely needs an amping unless we have a quality DAP/source. My SGP5",30GB classic is hard to drive them, but 120GB classic takes it up to some extent. CL DAC/AMP on 120gb is perfectly pairing but still shines better with E12. Other than that, it is a hard to find IEM at this price tag, as of now. And no worries, you will be rewarded for the extra $$ paid($13-$20?), for sure. Infact you can invest just $28 on E6 or $50 on E11 and you will realize how wise your decision was,no regrets. it's ur personal preference, you know what I mean...

Infact I've decided to preserve this,(yeah I'm not totally convinced with the cable and strain relief near the 3.5mm jack) extra baby sit while using them, to use it as my budget/mid tier IEM reference to benchmark other IEMs as it's on the Neutral side.

I got VSD1S on order. Can't wait to see how they stack up against my JVC HA-FXT90's and TDK IE800's??? Hell...even against my ALTEC LANSING MZX606 (which sing like a bird with comply olive tips and that out of this world tuning-these are single ba drivers tuned to sound like dynamic drivers. it's insane!)??

+1, This is my first sight on praising Muzx 606 ultra from a fellow head-fi'er......This is an over-looked IEM by many imo. The mids and highs are a way to heaven and just add foam tip,Boom, it's true heaven.

Oh you bet! These were the first single BA IEM's I ever bought. I was actually quite excited when I received them in the mail. The packaging was quite impressive as well. I've owned many single BA IEM's (Mee A151. 161/UE 600/XBA-1/ect..) and none have sounded as dynamic and with that weighty bass tuning as the 606. I agree with you on all counts. Just reminds me of a high quality dynamic driver instead of a BA. I tossed it in a box unfortunately, when the right side started to short. Then recently I found them in that box, proxy'd and wrapped that short, created a homemade strain relief, and slapped olives on them and HOLY ****!! My latest favorite IEM for listening with my Sony unamped. Glad you recognize how great these under looked IEMs are, Shawn.

Infact I was keen on getting another pair of 606 and MeeM6/M9 to re-shell as budget hybrids.....606 for mid/hi's and Mee for bass as it's dynamic. Those crystal highs and instruments on 606 is amazing.

That sounds like an awesome idea, and you'd have one hell of a hybrid custom.

Would these sound "bad" on a smartphone (Nexus 4). I also have Fiio e17.

no way.they are gonna sound great on your smartphone as long as your sound card on your phone is high quality. Most IEM's nowadays are tuned with smartphones and iphones in mind.

thanks for the reply, how's the build quality on this? Does these ear buds tangle very easily? I have the iBeats and they tangle so easily because the wires r somewhat thin and the wires are sticky/rubberly.

Nope. They have that high quality Vsonic cable. Can't compare Beats cable with professional VSonic cable. Different leagues. VSonic 1.30m TPU cable, 4 X20 silver core wires +/-3%. thick metal cable, like pro monitors.

last question (hopefully), Which is better in terms of sound quality, build, and the ability to resit tangling: Vsonic GR02 or VSD1/VSD1s? The Gr02 is around 10$ cheaper on ebay.

The VSD1/S has better sound quality. GR02 has the same cable and as far as the build quality of the housing it's a bit more solid given it's bigger and the front part is metal while on  the VSD1/S only the nozzles are metal. On the other hand, the GR02's housing sticks out of the ear while the VSD1/S' is flush with the ear and has the cool rotating nozzles.

I have the GR02 bass edition and the VSD1. The GR02be has colder and clearer sound; while the VSD1 has darker and warmer, therefore muddier sound. What I don't like about the VSD1 is the extra midbass, I consider it a bit bassy for my personal taste, I should have gone with the VSD1S instead. My music preference is rock/metal.

I have 2 friends (own cheap $10 in-ears) try on the GR02be and VSD1, and they prefer the GR02be. Their music preference is main stream pop, k-pop.

If you don't want to spend an extra $10 I believe the GR02be will be good enough, or get the VSD1S. You won't go wrong with either. Also, check out lendmeurears.com, they're having a sale on Vsonic models.
