Thanks for helping out.

X3 coaxial uses 3.5mm jack... I read that Drew@MA already sorted it out...

I am also ordering a mini balance cable from them...

^ Just ordered the coax cable from Drew.  Will you be using the mini balanced cable on the JH3a?  Which one did you get?

Hi Rico, I do not have JH3a...

I am in the process of setting up a portable fully balanced system.... a bit of overkill...

I use X3 as the source transport and connect to ibasso DB2 using a custom Coaxial cable from Jaben Hong Kong that cost me around 135usd... Please let me know if the MA coaxial is better because I have some issues with 24/192 files and I cannot be sure if it is caused by DB2 or the cable itself...

I am now ordering from MA a mini cable to connect from DB 2 6 pin Hirose to RSA intruder 4pin jack..

I am also waiting the iem cable with RSA 4 pin jack mod from Cadence cables in Singapore.. Sean @ Cadence has been extremely helpful to help me to achieve this setup..

So far adding the DB2 in the chain using single ended has already added subtle improvement on the sound detail.. the instrument separation seems to be better... I read in head fi that there is another mod that helps u to reduce the warmness in X3 by changing the opamp...

I need to ask my frd to let me do some AB on AK120 after all the cables arrive...

^ That sounds like a righteous system indeed!!  I don't have any 24 bit files, yet, maybe others would be able to tell you how they play on the X3.

I've got X3 on order from some guys in HK . . . but they seem to be out of stock . . . wonder how long it will take?

Just shipped !  ksc75smile.gif

I have the X9 and I do enjoy it. If I was in a better financial situation, I would also like to get an X3 as well, but for now, funds don't permit it. redface.gif

Haha. Both looks good. Still can't decide whether to save up for a DAP or the V3 first though. Tough decision. frown.gif

glad to know that you will get your X3 soon...

interesting that you have decided to bypass dac and amp immediately. there should be a even cheaper/smaller DAP with a user-friendly music player software that encodes clean usb audio or spdif over optical/coaxial.... that will give a lot of possibilities to upgrade components/cables at wish..

beyersmile.pngwishful thinking...

^ This is my plan  FiiO X3  --->  JH Audio 3a amp ---> JH 16 pro

The S/PDIF input on the 3a is supposed to sound fantastic hence my decision to go with the FiiO X3 with digital/Coax output.

Just a heads up for those looking to order this and are unsure of some of the places doing pre-orders, B&H Photo is now taking pre-orders on this for $199+shipping ($3.99 for lowest option). I have a E17 in a E09K dock with Sennheiser HD 380 Pro headphones I use for my PC audio, absolutely love the sound and can't wait to get the same in a portable DAP.

Much Love mah friend, I read x3=hm 602 and I was sold [I loved my hm 601 to death]

Anyways I'm looking for a new Dap and Amp for a pair of Mad Dogs [which imo are Dark and Thick] I need something that will Brighten and Thin them out.  My old Hm 601 and e11 murdered the Mad Dogs [and I used line out]

Non the less while using the Line out on this DAP, what would be a good amp to pair with them to brigten a dark pair of cans like the Mad Dogs? [I'l looking at the Jds Labs C5 and the E12 atm]

I received my X3 today from Audiothinker thru Ebay.  It's fully charged - ready to go, but everything's set to Chinese.  I'm unable to find how to set the language to English.  Anyone know how to make the change?

1. Home Menu, Scroll to the bottom (highlighted one below):

2. First one, you can see Language

BTW, the new firmware will add the language choose when it is turn on at first time or upgrade the firmware or after reset , like all the smartphone.

ClieOS -  I know you're a big fan of the TDK IE800s. Have you tried them with the X3? How's the pairing?

Kind of hard to say by now since I have mod'ed my X3 and it does go quite well with the IE800. But I don't know if that's the case with the stock X3 as well.
