SO, I am going to buy one of these headphones probably, and I keep getting told I will need and amp and a deck, no idea what is a deck though. But I want an amp for these two headphones, I dont understand much, and want a good and cheap one and most important it has to be portable

I think you may be thinking of a DAC (digital analog converter).  I'm sure some other smarter member here can explain to you on exactly what that is, since in my mind I still think of it as just an external soundcard.

If you want a portable amp (meaning it can run on batteries), then 2 good choices would either be an Objective 2 amplifier or a Fiio E12.  Either should run you around 100-110 dollar range, can run off batteries, and provide enough juice for HD600s or HE400s

Go with the e12, it's the most powerful portable option out there for under $200. The E12 is a nice an powerful amp. It's actually about $125 - $150, but worth it.

E6 should be fine for them.  The 250ohm version would be a dif case.

If you're not going to get the E12, then the lowest I would go is E11. You can pick up the E11 on Amazon with an extra battery and charger for $60. It's practically a steal. I think if you got the E6 you would find yourself wanting more.

Being "Good enough" and being "a perfect match" are 2 different things.

I hate "Good Enough" :) Because I always want more!

will I need the dock,if I am going to use it with ipod or iphone?also would the e11 later work for more headphones?

I don't own a dock, the dock is just nice because you can use it as a desktop/portable amp. You can still use the E11 on your desktop, but it will have to run on battery because it does not work while charging. The E11 is my main portable amp for my SRH-840's Motorola Atrix 2 phone and it powers them perfectly. Loud and dynamic. It would work the same with the iPod/iPhone.

And yes, the E11 is the most powerful FiiO amp aside from the E12. So it will handle a lot of different headphones. The E11 runs my HD600's pretty well, but not as good as the E12.

The E11 does 300mW(16 Ohm) and 35mW(300Ohm). The E6 is half this power.

Just another bit of info, the FiiO E12 Mont Blanc outputs 600mW (16ohm), 880mW (32ohm), 160mW (300ohm),

Much more suitable for the HD600's. 160mW compared to the 35mW of the E11.

also would the fiio e11 work for the dt770 250 ohms?

The e12 is more suited for the 250ohm Beyer.

The dock hooks up to your computer and then you drop the amp into the dock. If you want to take your amp with you, you just undock it. Basically it just saves you the time of hooking up the wires over and over each time.

I think the E11 would be fine for those, but the E12 would be better.
