Right.  So you'll essentially have your DAP (or whatever constitutes your portable rig as some people have MUCH more than a DAP) on you.

In addition, you may also want to cruise the meet with a pair of versatile and resolving cans that you are very familiar with.  This will allow you to test amps, DAC/amp, etc.

Sometimes, people will have a CD player as a source/transport.  So it's a good idea to have a CD handy... again something that you are very familiar with.

And finally, bring adapters and interconnects.  You'd be surprised at how many auditions are foiled for lack of an 1/8"-to-1/4" (or vice versa) adapter, or some other input cable.

Thanks! I'll probably just bring an iPod, my only DAP I have right now. Tempted to bring my custom O2 amp... Since I probably won't be upgrading it soon (may change my mind). And maybe I could demo phones through it.

And thanks for the advice about the interconnnects. Almost forgot about that tongue.gif

Aww. Is he/she yours?

The above pictured fellow is a Continental Giant who lives in England. He's waiting for his walk. He inspired us to get serious about a large rabbit... then our Flemish Giant below showed up in a local shelter to adopt. You can see updates from the English fellow on Facebook, at https://www.facebook.com/PennyAndSheldon.  Already 1000 likes.  I post my updates on the House Rabbit Society, https://www.facebook.com/groups/17988848808/.  The HRS Handbook is *the* Bible... and I have 5 or more pictures of 3 of our rabbits in there.

Aww, no harness this time?  Srsly, the harness is the best part of that pic!  Transforms him from a bunny to a loved and cared for bunny.

I'll let you know.

we will have 3 for the meet and I have one more promised to mr Speakers for the headmaster ballroom. The BD105 will be available  and if someone can bring some twin adapters we can hook up two single ended amps and also if someone had the XLR adapters as well you can also use 2 balanced sources so in reality with adapters you can use 4 different amps two balanced and two unbalanced to drive the music.  To make this fair I need to know how many are interested in using the bdp105 and then I will come up with a fair way of  dishing them out. Calef I assume you have the adapters for the two amps so that would work and if anyone else has them please bring them so more people can use the oppo players

Ther ar eadapters made specifically for adding a second input like dayton-right-angle-rca-adaptor.php. You need one for each input

Ugh...  I have to make a business trip next week.  I'll be back just in time for the meet, but I doubt I'll be able to get things together to bring much gear.  They can't stop me from coming though.

Warren: Sounds like calaf and I are going to setup on one desk after all.  Is there someway you could find a place for us together?

Thanks!

It would be best to have a single source that we could plug into both DACs in addition to individual sources, but I don't have a source that has dual digital outs.  My only meet source is old-school USB laptop.

Could be an interesting experiment to see if optical v coax actually makes a meaningful difference...:)

Does your Squeezebox have two digital sources that can run simultaneously?

I am not going to bring my Beyer 250's unless someone really, specifically wants to listen to them (I had one guy who didn't get a chance last time).

The reason is these things are really starting to fall apart - screws are popping out left and right, and the whole earcup fell off last night.  I am going to try to fix them, but they could be...unstable...
