What are you bringing this time?  Since it's gonna be right around my birthday, and I hope to treat myself to a K712, I might bring that (along with a few other items).
O2/ODAC, HD650, DT880 MCA modded. And if anyone wants to hear it, the Heir Audio 4.Ai. My collection has really expanded:D

I certainly wouldn't mind checking out the MCA DT880/600.  The only DT880 I've heard is a stock 32Ω.  Plus it'd be nice to see Martin's work up close for (I think?) the first time.  Also, I'm totally into the IEM thing right now.  smile.gif

I'm also hoping to bring a D7000 alongside the D7100 this time so people can do a direct comparison.  Also, I should be done restoring my Quadraflex Q-35 by then.  Bet no one has ever heard that...

BTW, your ODAC is a standalone right?  I've been thinking of building an ultra-clean portable brick built around an ODAC and C5 lately... you know, because I'm crazy like that.

I'm also hoping to bring a D7000 alongside the D7100 this time so people can do a direct comparison.  Also, I should be done restoring my Quadraflex Q-35 by then.  Bet no one has ever heard that...

Looking into IEM's? Would you like me to bring the 4.Ai?

Yes! I want to hear the D7000 really bad haha.

Yes my ODAC is standalone.

That's kind of what I was getting at, but yeah if you wouldn't mind.  I can supply a selection of my own small and extra small tips (I gots tiny ear anuses) if you can confirm that they more or less accept standard tips.

Cool, if at all possible, it will be done!  Note, it'll be a completely stock D7k, no mods of any kind.

If I haven't already pulled the trigger on the brick (or something like it), I'd love to hear the ODAC.  I didn't get a chance to last time (yeah I know it was inches away the whole morning).  I figure the ODAC/O2 pairing should be fairly indicative of an ODAC/C5 pairing.

I thought there was a D7000 there the last time?

And I think there was a D2000 next to Donald's amps as well. D5000 was mysteriously absent...

Oh, and check the Leckerton UHA-6S Mk.II, too. Its USB implementation allows it to work with pretty much any device (even the iPad), and I personally think the amp section is at least comparable to O2, and a whole step above Schiit Magni.

I just checked my photos again, and ya, there was one on the table across from us.

I'll also have the W1000X if you wanna hear the D7000's competitor.

Oh okay, cool.  Just mentioning it because some people have a thing about the sharing of tips and all.

LOL, I wish I knew!  It hasn't arrived yet... frown.gif  But it should be here well before August!

Seeing as how the D7000 is discontinued, I thinkg the W1000X wins by default.

You know what we should have done last time right?  We should have put two tables together and then just made a big pile.

BTW, is anyone curious as to what a triple-driver headphone sounds like?  I've got a production sample of a unit that never made it to market.  Per side, it's got two angled 15mm drivers for mids and highs, and one 40mm bass driver.  I can bring it for shigs and gittles.

Oops. Yeah, you're right. I got the wrong table. But there really was a D7000 at the last meet.

And I don't think the W1000X would win in terms of sound against the D7000. I didn't like it at stock... so I had to mod the headphone quite a bit. Even now, I still haven't found an amp that does them full justice.

But we'll see.

Mike (HiFiGuy528) and I made a deal where one of us would hang around the table while the other would cruise.  As you can tell, I got the short end of that stick... tongue.gif

I wouldn't know because the STORY OF MY LIFE is "I haven't heard it..."

Fiio E6 FTW!  Not...  Hey, how about a Portaphile 627?

BTW, I was talking to someone about your ES10.  It has now been nicknamed the Mighty V.  biggrin.gif

You shouldn't have made a deal. There were very good gears outside of that room.

I had the chance to try the Portaphile 627 the other week, and I liked it a lot. But it's just not worth almost twice the price of the UHA-6S Mk.II to me. Considering the UHA-6S Mk.II w/ OPA627 is about 90% there.

Funny thing about the ES10, though... is that I should have told you to try using it with vocal-centric music. If you thought bass and treble were forward, you'd probably be surprised. Midrange is actually more forward than either.

The W1000X is almost the same... though with bigger soundstage and slightly cleaner treble.

At the end of the day, I'm still very much a midrange-head. beerchug.gif

Well, that is... if we get enough people wanting to meet up. We are missing at least 60 heads.

Ok, I'll be there, circumstances allowing, of course. Balanced mad dogs, balanced HD650's, iBasso PB2/DB2 combo, Centrance HIFI-M8, MacBook Air and a 64gb iPod touch 4G.
