That way we know where we stand either way.

Was it because of the inability to skip backwards though? I'm not sure if you saw my post earlier, but it appears it is just a case of them changing the way the device worked in firmware 1.37 but forgetting to mention it. Skip backwards is now two quick taps on the button.

So not a bug or a hardware defect, but an unexplained new feature

i love the term "unexplained new feature" more than bug or defect

Quick is probably the wrong word.  You press to go to the beginning, wait 1 second, press again.  If you tap tap, that won't work.

Ha ha, well that's odd. Two quick taps definitely works for me. smily_headphones1.gif

For me, until the bit/rate is being displayed more presses are ignored.  Once that information pops, I can go back or forward.

Yeah, that's exactly the process he walked me through as well and it still did not work sadly.

For fixes please to recognize disc number in multidisc albums instead of playing track 1 from each disc then going to track 2 from each disc ect. Pleeeeease!

I think you are asking a question...?  Maybe this will help:

You can either have a Folder named Disc 1, Disc 2..., for each Disc with the Tracks numbered 1 through whatever, OR you can put all the Tracks in one Album Folder with the Tracks numbered 101 to 199 from Disc 1 and 201 to 299 from Disc 2, or A01 to A99 from Disc 1 and B01 to B99 from Disc 2.  By putting all the Tracks in one single Album Folder they will all play uninterrupted from the first Track to the last without you having to change from Disc 1 to Disc 2.

Does that help?

I know i could do this(retag) to the hundreds of multi disc albums i have…..one by one, but the discussion was about software fixes and updates due to the fact that AK is finally listening. Of course i listen to folders, it is the only way i can use my $1300. player, while my three hundred dollar iPod has software that does lists seamlessly. So just saying, it would be nice if they could include the recognition of disc number in their next firmware update so we could use the normal Artist or album lists and not have to go through three different sets of files searching for an album or performance so the songs play in order…i.e. listening to a live performance without hearing the first song of the second set right after the first song of the first set, jumping all around the concert instead of how it was recorded.

my 120 does play disc 1 and disc 2 in proper order using both wav and flac

Mine doesn't. It mixes the songs up even when I have checked the tags and they are right. Maybe some factory discs have more differentiation in the tagging but other users out here have reported the same issue as i am stating. I am using the latest firmware too. I am used to using folders anyway.

At least is isn't like the HM801 that i found played songs in the order that they loaded into the sd card. So if one loaded quicker it was played first so you couldn't pull a file folder over with a show on it, you had to do one at a time and wait for them to load. Now that was a pain. Also i had to have a flac copy for everything so i ended having both an apple lossless copy and flac copy of most of my music, thus a two Ter external hard drive.

Overall happy, just a wish so i could use the screen to listen to music instead of always having to search each sd card and the internal memory separately for music.
