Is not good.

Anyone else experience the same?
Press twice.

I suspect the cable looses, maybe you can try to fix it if you have T4 screw driverūüė•.

It happens with the screen touch function as well, won't skip a track in reverse so its not hardware... when its in the middle of a track it will go back but it won't skip to the previous track.

Mine (FW 1.37) does exactly the same shiit as yours: skips forward fine but won't skip back, no matter how fast or slow the screen or buttons are pressed. It's a one-way-street...:(

My unit will lose audio if I rewind it or fast forward it. I have to pause to get audio again. This is on 1.32. I was thinking because I modded mine but I guess not?

Lee, what about skipping back a track? Ex: going from Track 5 back to Track 4

Does yours (FW 1.32) do that? Mine and Goldlions won't, it just goes back to the beginning of the current track no matter how many times the screen or buttons are pressed....strange & lame, but true.

Nope. It only plays no audio when you click back and it is on the same track. But when you do press back and get it to revert to the previous tracks, audio plays. That also goes for skipping forward tracks. 1.32 sounds better to me anyways ;)... But it isn't quite as fast as 1.37 (especially for DSD playback). What I do is I pause the current track I am playing if I want to switch to a different file to get rid of the lag.

I have exactly the same problem. I was about to send it in for rma. Glad to see that you experienced the same problem because I thought my unit was defective.

If I press the button 3 times in a row it happens to work. But you need to push it really fast otherwise it wont work. Skipping a track back became almost like playing ps3 or something

Yeah... same version as well. as you guys have said its not the usual skip back problem you'd have with a player where it goes back to the beginning forcing you to hit the back button twice, it doesn't go back at all so you have to exit and go to the album menu. Isn't hardware as the touch screen does not react either (can others see if their screen reacts?). The button will start the track again so it works but simply isn't reading to the beginning of the last track, its software. With mine I couldn't get it to skip no matter what I did, I might not be as fast as Flaco .lol.

On a bit of a side note, if Vinnie and others are reading... the iRiver team made (IMO) a bit of a **** up with the track buttons on the AK120 not sure about the AK100, its minor and doesn't change much but Forward >> should be the top most button on the device and Back << should be at the bottom as it is with every other player. Is a bit annoying reaching deeper into my pocket past the pause button to go Forward on a track. It should be relatively easy to switch the wiring on the inside of the device, right? If you can resolder the DAC's you guys can switch the wiring so the player reads 'as it should'. Half tempted to do it myself but I haven't got the soldering skills needed. Is a simple wire swap to trick it into reading properly.

Update:

If I hit 'Pause' first then the < once it goes back to the beginning of that track it's on, then hit < again and it does go back one track. So it does work, but only if you pause first.

... does your touch screen work or does it have the same problem? I can't replicate the problem, it happens intermittently, every so often... like now it seems to be working.

Ahhh.... yeah... no headphones in so its on pause like you said Burtomr. Only works when its on pause.

I got the same problem when I receive my b mod I got no idea if stock having the same issue. It's was fw1.32. I had problem on back forward and drag the track backward or forward. Upgrade to fw1.37 the button now work fine 1st press it go back to beginning of the same track, another press will go to previous track but dragging the track it will have no sound.

Is odd that only a few are having this problem... am struggling to drag and drop new music into it at the moment also, it seems to put everything into one album tagged but without art work.
