Also generally I didn't hear good things about AudioNova agencies, so you might want to delete their name from your list.

OK Thanks

AK120-S Mod and T1 amp is just sick ;).... Currently gonna try upgrade to 13.7 and see how that works. Really excited to get the UHA670 in for better volume control and hopefully better sound. :)

Congratulations. I see the RWAK120S is in.

Try switching on the eq. Lowers output by 4 db if I remember correctly. Helps to allow more play on the volume knob with very little detrimental effect on overall sonics.

Thanks. It  is indeed worthy of its hype :P. I just tried out 1.3.7 and didn't like the Sonics compared to 1.32. It sounds a bit laid back in the treble and overly smoothed over.... Also I notice there is more power it seems applied to 1.37. I have more headroom on the T1 on 1.3.2 with better sonics IMO :). I did use the EQ on particularly loud tracks. Generally I am fine stock though. Just on the very low end of the pot on the T1.

Sorry if I'm speaking out of turn, I'm genuinely trying to understand/ come up to speed as I only got my AK120 last week and the next day FW1.37 was released. But how can changes to the UI (as mentioned in the changelog) affect the sound quality?

Who knows, and I can't tell of any change on SQ at all.  But again, I am running my AK120 with my VC SDT DAC/AMP so it's not exactly direct.

Lee, give 1.37 some more time. Your description was my initial thought but then I let myself get used to it and realized pretty quickly that the more relaxed delivery allowed me to actually hear more detail and shimmer in the treble as it was not so harsh so I could go deeper into the mix. Still finding this now and sometimes I think, hmm, maybe too smooth but then i listen with a more critical ear and realize as I said all the detail is still there, just more organic and natural I feel.

A bit like listening to a really well designed SET tube amp compared to a good solid state, initially you think your losing something then realize its the grain thats missing, not the detail!

I agree as well, more headroom, mine is driving my Etymotic ER4S much better now and oh boy what a match that pairing is!

Agree with ianmedium. My SE5 and Pro666 sound wonderful with 1.37.

There does not seem to be a change in audio quality when switching the EQ on and off from what I can percive.... the volume rises and lowers, felt that it went up and down by two clicks via the volume knob and going back and forth that way offered no change in sound.... are people considering this to be a feature that allows for EQ adjustment? How is this working for people with the RE-B mod and the like?

The iGrado headphone does well with the device I notice, have been waiting for a very long time for my Alpha Dog headphones and have just heard that they've shipped minus the XLR cables I ordered with them.

Agreed, it seems to be working differently than before.  I could definitely hear a difference in tone before, now it just appears to be volume difference

Weren't you previously on 1.33 though? I felt 1.33 lost immediacy compared to 1.32. So I reverted back to 1.32. I tried 1.33 with multiple genres and just didn't like how it sounded. I have to admit 1.33 and 1.37 are more stable overall or smoother in regards to the UI but I rather go for that last bit of sound :).

Yeah, I was on 1.33. I am finding that 1.37 takes 1.32 and gives it more organic and dynamic traits and rounds off the sharpness i felt 1.33 had. I do feel to my ears 1.37 is a substantial improvement over the other two but that is just my ears, does not mean I am right of course and its great we can have access to previous versions to tailor the sound to our exact liking. Having said that I am going to be very cautious about the next update as this for me sonically is just about spot on!

Would you say your ASP-TU6 is on the brighter side? Makes me wonder if our amps could be playing a roll in that? I had read somewhere that either the TU-05 or 06 are bright amps? Is this true?

I want to share my "discovery".
All my Apple lossless files created with iTunes from a CD, when it was brought to the AK120, the covers don't appear on. I put the cover on the entire album (and so appeared on all tracks). The cover appears on iTunes but also on some players Mac (Audirvana, Vox, etc.) without problems. But not on AK120.
I've tried to include the cover (taking it from a JPG file) one track at a time: so the cover is displayed smoothly on the AK120.
Do you have similar experiences?
