While charging your player, disconnect the cable and reconnect it again. If it is fully charged, it will say so, if not it will say ''charging battery''. The player must be turned off in order to show these messages.

Mine alternates saying "charging battery" and "battery fully charged" while it's on the charger. The gauge won't show the charge level while it's on the charger. You must un-plug the charger to get a read from the battery gauge. I usually just put mine on the charger overnight (6+ hours) and it's ready to go.

You will see the little battery icon turn solid orange and script saying fully charged. It does take a while though, even with an iPad charger. To see the status tap on the on/off button without holding it down and the icon will appear!

i would like to know if there is an external battery which can be connected directly to the river AK120.

You can use any external battery that has a USB/5V connection. Just connect a USB cable from the battery pack to your AK120 and it will charge/power the AK120.

There are lots of external battery packs that have a USB connector for charging your devices.

Not sure if that was your question exactly though.

I think I understand better now.

You mean something like an "extended" battery or a larger capacity battery that will act as one big battery in the AK120.

Short of opening the AK120 case and making a bigger case with a bigger internal battery, I don't know who that would be possible.

The only way to charge/power the AK120 is through the usb port (without opening the case). So from a performance/functionality standpoint, any external battery would have to connect via the USB port and work the same way.

I can see that charging both the AK120 and an external battery pack is not as convenient, but that's the only way I can think of to have longer battery life.

"How are you?

Yes we are preparing Bluetooth remote which is compatible with AK100 and AK120.

It is still under preparing and we do not fix its launching schedule and how to distribute."
-> this is answer from Alex An (iRiver, alex.an@iriver.com)

I'm looking for a strong headphone.

i do not know which one chose between the following items for my AK120 :

http://www.amazon.fr/BEYERDYNAMIC-Custom-One-Pro-CUSTOM/dp/B008XEYT48/ref=sr_1_20?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1359016792&sr=1-20
and
http://www.lesnumeriques.com/casque-audio/sennheiser-momentum-p15287/test.html#test-complet
and
http://www.audiofederation.fr/furutech/test-adl-h118

Could you please advice me, those who know more about the AK120, impedance and also Headphone ?

Thank in advance

sam

Don't get the momentum, get the B&W P7 instead for that price range.  But again, you really should consider the Alpha Dog or something even higher grade.

Am I the only one who finds the momentum sound muddy and veiled? They reminded me more of Beats by Dre then Sennheiser!

For on ear I love the pairing of my DT1350's with the AK 120 though you have to turn the volume up a little more as they are not as sensitive as IEM's

I personally love the Momentums with the AK100 and AK120, but only the over the ear ones. The on-ears are too uncomfortable. The P7s also match very well the Astell&Kern players.
