The Astell & Kern AK120 - Page 257

What's the best procedure for switching SDXC cards? Do you have to shut down the unit? Do you have to rescan if you navigate by folder? Being a mac user I don't really use album artwork.

Thanks,

Sam

If somebody is sitting on the fence about the AK120, B&H has a used one.

I order the extra small . Hope I will like it. If not may be will order the small size

I like this gear but the amp is expensive for me.

The XS is a tight fit for ak120 but great on the go. And if you do not like it you can use it as a case for iems, it is great.

Here is something I did with the pelican 1020 case. Yet to cut out holes for the iems yet but yeah ... haha

i was thinking the 1060 so that i can put my whole rig inside, but the die-cut is a big problem

Any thoughts on the new firmware?
I love the sound of 1.32 and do not want to lose it. On the other hand I have a nice collection of DSD files so improved processing would be welcomed.

I just posted this on the ASP thread but thought I would do one here as well. My Analog Squared Paper tube amp came back today after being modified and I can report that it and the stock AK120 are a really good combination. I thought I knew the 120 but with high quality amplification it really shines even more.

This combination feels more like a full sized home rig than a transportable/portable one.

I can also report (to my ears anyway) that the combined HP/line out of the AK120 is very transparent. I was easily able to discern the differences in my three interconnects with this line out so anyone worried that it does not have a dedicated line out don't! I feel it is as good as my HM-801's dedicated line out in terms of transparency.
Here is a quick shot (minus my out and about IEM's and DT1350 and interconnects) of my set up!

I'm happy with the update. DSD tags are working in 1.33 and I haven't noticed any issues introduced.  Once updated to 1.33, you need to rescan your music to populate your database with DSD tags.
