I am glad you enjoy the EX1000, considered as garbage to some elite head-fier's (no offense). wink_face.gif

$300 worth every penny spent on that sucker.

Almost everything is considered garbage to some of the elite head-fiers.

That said, it does not apply to all of them....many of them are very nice and do not belittle the budget-fi crowd. whirlgif 3.04 (c) dino@danbbs.dk 6 images

Who is talking? I cannot hear the voices of the common folk, sounds like growls to my divine ears.

Have not tried the EX1000 but just got the Cardas ear speakers - anyone out there had a chance to compare?

Let your cardas burn in for 200 hours at least. Cardas sound is natural where as ex1000 more neutral compared to them. I find cardas sound good out of my iPod, I like them better out of iPod than ak120, don't know why!

Do you have an idea when it will be widely available?

Thanks for the info mate.

I've decided that I want to get an amp to pair with AK120.  I've gotten some great feedback and have narrowed to:

Triad L3

Tralucent T1

RSA Intruder

ALO Continental

I know there is some cost differential and size differential, but I'm really looking for the best sound when I am with my briefcase on an airplane and the like.  So extreme portability is not necessary.  I'll use it with Sennheiser IE800's, HD600's, and Audeze LCD3 (pending).

Any further thoughts before I pull the trigger?  Any others that I should consider?

Thanks in advance.

Also check out some European made amp. Vorzamp, Meier Quickstep, and iQube. To me they are very neutral and uncolored (Vorzamp do have tiny bit coloring).. so if you want to retain the AK120 sound signature I suggest to check out one of those amp smile.gif.
