The Astell & Kern AK120 - Page 93

At last, I have got the usb Dac to worknormal_smile%20.gif

I was using the usb 3 sockets previously, it was recognized by my PC but would not play. This morning I plugged the AK120 in a usb 2 socket and voila, it works!!!

The interesting part for me is that..........

Using the AK120 as a usb Dac driven by the PC, the sonics sound exactly the same as when the AK120 was when on 1.0 firmware. This is strange!

The FitEar C435 sounds wonderful and the MH335DW not so much............a 180 degrees changeconfused_face_2.gif from when used as a standalone player. However, I will take it though.................

Usb 3 ports worked fine for me.But some longer cheapo usb power/charging cables caused me problem initially.

I also agree with your impression on usb dac vs standalone for 1.21. I liked how sounded with usb dac mode.stand standalone.

I have been listening for the best part of the last hour and I am really stoked by the sonics with the C435.......normal_smile%20.gif

Now I can't wait for the AK100 to be updated with the usb Dac function......

I take it the AK120 is being charged at the same time it is used as a usb Dac ?

Can anyone confirm?

Thanks!

Seems like my rewind physical button is not working. I cannot remember if this is was the case before the firmware update. Can you guys check whether your physical rewind button is working? Thanks.

Do any other AK120 owners have problems with unreliable battery meter readings? Mine never shows a full charge even when left plugged in all night and the meter seems to drain very quickly. However the battery seems to go on and on even though the meter says its virtually flat.

Yes it charge at the same time but can't get to full.

I was charging my unit for quite some time yesterday and it didn't seem to get full... Doesn't it stop flashing once it's fully charged?

Not sure. I haven't been able to find any details on the device indicates the various battery statuses.

I always get a red full charge sign after charging over night on my X Box ......

I get pretty linear battery readings....It is pretty good as when in the red there is still a good 2-3 hours left..............

yes it does say fully charged when the unit is not powered on

try draining battery to the max and charging it to full without turning it on. normally that will help reset the batts

I took the AK120 with me out today with the 1Plus2. Really enjoyed the portability/convenience. normal_smile%20.gif
