The Astell & Kern AK120 - Page 90

Anyone else notice the PRO setting in the equalizer adds a slight echo? I actually like it.

Just had a quick listen to the IEM I use often after 1.21 update

1-CK100PRO: Sounds great, nothing to complain about, very airy and great instrument sepration.

2-EX-1000: Retains its wonderful dynamic qualities, however sounds a little more forward, I cannot remember if it was the same on the 1.0 firmware

3-F111: Very  and neutral.

I need to find the 1.00 firmware to spot the changes however those three aim seems to work just to my liking.

I already have one;) Actually I use IPC rockboxed more often when I am on go because I find out a best EQ setting for 1+2. The combo make it sound better than anything I have heard from a earphone, sound signaturelly :p

What the heck happened to your SE5 Way? I thought they were your main ciems? Also, how did you find the pairing SE5 with AK120?

SE5 only sounds amazing with healthy, strong and clean power IMO. So I prefer to drive it with my desktop DAC or DX100 with 627 amp.

AK120 with new firmware actually sound not bad with SE5. But it's on the smaller/thinner side, the dynamic isn't too good either (not as good as pairing with DX100/901, the old firmware can keep up with them 90%, the new one just isn't able to do so)

I've been trying to get my hands on the 1.00 firmware but looks like I won't be able to receive it until after the weekend. I'll post it up as soon as I receive it.

Not that it matters much any more, but firmware version v1.21 has been officially released from Astell&Kern. LINK

I do realize that there are still download issues with our website, but if anyone has a problem downloading the firmware, please try downloading it from either Sound Fidelity from from this Dropbox link.

Is this a new version again beyond the one posted yesterday?

I know GSARider is definitely on the v1.00 side while Gavin on the v1.21 side. Who else have already made up their mind?

For me 1.21 is for FitEar MH335DW, to a lesser extent the ToGo!334 only

OR

It has to be amped

No, it's the same that Sound Fidelity has already posted. They just leaked it a few days earlier than expected.

Perspective of a nice weekend... bigsmile_face.gif

Apologies to my wallet.

Not listened to it yet, just opened it up, but damn... is this thing minuscule. It's really tiny.
