I played my friend the Celibidache/Munich Philharmonic live recording of Tchaikovsky's 6th symphony last night on them and she was blown away.  The best sound she's ever heard!

I'm aware that MA900 has very broad sounding left-to-right, but is the center sound well-defined?

Hi,

I'm listening right now to them and I can tell you that the centre imaging is absolutely there and spot on.  I understand your concerns too with a headphone with such a wide soundstage.  I recently got a pair of AKG K702s and feel they have exactly that problem you describe, but not the MA900s.  Wow, these are amazing (Riccardo Muti/Philadelphia Orchestra Mussorgsky Pictures at an Exhibition now).  I try to imagine and remember how good these sound when I'm away from them and when I get back to them, I've underestimated them and they exceed my expectations every time I listen to them!

Sadly the K702(as well as Q701 and K701) does have some center imaging issues, though the K601, K612, Annies, and K712 do have a well defined center. The MA900 has always had great center imaging. I really need to listen to the MA900 again sometime.
