First if all, I need to underline, I'm no expert at all when It comes to sound description, nor have I very detailed knowledge about the common vocabulary used....so please excuse my language, It's only an first attempt to describe what I hear and feel. It is like being on stage for the first time I guess....
As said before, dealing with Piotr was the most pleasant thing to do, and no, I'm not working for him.
I fell into music as a kid, living with two pianists, tried myself, but realized very soon I was far to lazy and far to pleasure oriented to undergo the torture to continue playing myself....so I just lied along the piano and listened for several years, and through that discovered much more genres for me to come via for example my dad with jazz and my older brother with hard rock.....Judas priest clap your hands!
The pro 330:
Build quality is awesome, cable is very soft, and there is not a trace of microphonics while.wearing them. No need of memory wire neither.
I was a bit surprised by isolation, its less then with my acrylic ciems, but the fit is 150 % better and pleasant! You just forget them and can keep them for hours.
Anyway, I only have basic gear, iPod classic, and an Fiio e11....minor audio mini to mini cable.
Let me try then....:
Without amp, no sound settings engaged:
Bass is very well textured, yet not invading, and still, it has very clear highs, sometimes quite sparkling but not harsh. The soundstage is quite big, could be more but It's not irritating I think. Separation is very good and detailed.
The vocals are I think a very strong point of the 330. I get the feeling he or she sings just a couple of cm away from me, makes me shiver....awesome stuff!
But here comes my real surprise, it fits classical music more then I expected. Without amp, Brahms requiem sounds absolutely incredible, it is a real beauty and I feel like sitting in a church or a concert hall....same as for piano solo, Sviatoslav Richters interpretation of Franz Liszt 's "la pensée des morts" is just great.
Now coming to use my entry level amp....
What can I say.....bass shakes you in a very textured and controlled way into a very nice depth....and now you feel their real power....warm sounding, certainly not neutral, but boy...oh boy....speechless.
There are so many songs I want to listen to to check it out....and that's the point where I know that these headphones are a very good value for me. I don't have much to compare, my shure se520 customs x8 by UM are much more neutral, and I needed quite a lot if time to find my pleasure with them, although I like them very much too now....just incomparable gears.
I had the aurisonic asg 1.2 for a while, which impressed me with their real dark sound, but buried all the beautifull highs you need in life
Voila my first impressions, I will give them some more hours to burn in and see if something changes significantly....
Thanks for reading, I hope It's not complete rubbish I wrote, and that I helps maybe to give an opinion.
