New custom IEM company - Custom Art: discussion, review, and impressions thread - Page 14

Here is a bit of my upcoming review:

Midrange: While I would say there is a very nice balance to the Music One, the midrange is the focus of the sound, and it has a nice blend between thickness and clarity.  Comparing with the similarly priced ER4S, the Music One presents with more detail and yet also is more musical.  The midrange is on the mid-forward side and the presentation space isn’t extremely large, at least unless the FSM-02 V2 amp is used, which really synergizes will with the Music One.  Integration from top to bottom of the frequency spectrum is well done, and the overall midrange performance is excellent.

Today I recieved my Pro 330s. Honestly I was a little concerned because Saturday I got my new JH13pro, I was wondering if the 330 were an unnecessary expense and risk. They are neither; early impressions are extremely positive. I'll do a lot more listening and put together a review but off the top of my head I love what the 330 does for the voices in vocal trance. Also, silicone comfort easily bests acrylic and I've got two other CIEMs in that material that topped my comfort list of earphones until this point.

More to come.

Got mine too, with a little extra tour in Poland, which has been taken care of greatly by Piotr.

I'll have some time this weekend to give further impressions, but i want to say something which i think is really important:

I think Piotr is by far the best person to do business with, always very polite, always fast in his answers. We exchanged a lot of mails, he never got short in his answers, comments or questions.

Quality wise, from what i can see for the moment, there is nothing to say but awesome. Fit is perfect, cable sits perfectly too.

So, i'll join Deviltooth in saying: more to come!

Thanks again Piotr for your presence!

Wow, they look nice. I liked the work. What can I say, have a nice listening sessions.

First if all, I need to underline, I'm no expert at all when It comes to sound description, nor have I very detailed knowledge about the common vocabulary used....so please excuse my language, It's only an first attempt to describe what I hear and feel. It is like being on stage for the first time I guess....

As said before, dealing with Piotr was the most pleasant thing to do, and no, I'm not working for him. smily_headphones1.gif

I fell into music as a kid, living with two pianists, tried myself, but realized very soon I was far to lazy and far to pleasure oriented to undergo the torture to continue playing myself....so I just lied along the piano and listened for several years, and through that discovered much more genres for me to come via for example my dad with jazz and my older brother with hard rock.....Judas priest clap your hands!

The pro 330:
Build quality is awesome, cable is very soft, and there is not a trace of microphonics while.wearing them. No need of memory wire neither.
I was a bit surprised by isolation, its less then with my acrylic ciems, but the fit is 150 % better and pleasant! You just forget them and can keep them for hours.
Anyway, I only have basic gear, iPod classic, and an Fiio e11....minor audio mini to mini cable.

Let me try then....:

Without amp, no sound settings engaged:

Bass is very well textured, yet not invading, and still, it has very clear highs, sometimes quite sparkling but not harsh. The soundstage is quite big, could be more but It's not irritating I think. Separation is very good and detailed.

The vocals are I think a very strong point of the 330. I get the feeling he or she sings just a couple of cm away from me, makes me shiver....awesome stuff!

But here comes my real surprise, it fits classical music more then I expected. Without amp, Brahms requiem sounds absolutely incredible, it is a real beauty and I feel like sitting in a church or a concert hall....same as for piano solo, Sviatoslav Richters interpretation of Franz Liszt 's "la pensée des morts" is just great.

Now coming to use my entry level amp....

Wow....

What can I say.....bass shakes you in a very textured and controlled way into a very nice depth....and now you feel their real power....warm sounding, certainly not neutral, but boy...oh boy....speechless.

There are so many songs I want to listen to to check it out....and that's the point where I know that these headphones are a very good value for me. I don't have much to compare, my shure se520 customs x8 by UM are much more neutral, and I needed quite a lot if time to find my pleasure with them, although I like them very much too now....just incomparable gears.

I had the aurisonic asg 1.2 for a while, which impressed me with their real dark sound, but buried all the beautifull highs you need in life smily_headphones1.gif

Voila my first impressions, I will give them some more hours to burn in and see if something changes significantly....

Thanks for reading, I hope It's not complete rubbish I wrote, and that I helps maybe to give an opinion.

Cool honest impressions, you give a real feeling of the music instead of only technical gibberish. Make me want to get these :)

It isn't isolate as good as your acrylic ciems? That's a surprise. I read many things about silicone earpieces isolates better than acrylic.
Maybe It's because the acrylic i have are much bigger and cover more of the extern earparts. But even with acrylic isolation is not 100%, your ear gets used to it and adapts....

Uhmm, that doesn't sound right. Silicone isolates differently than acrylic but if the fit is loose and you're not getting proper isolation then it should be refited...

Although your impressions pretty much describes Pro330's signature right, if there was a isolation leakage you'd be getting a lot less than "bass shakes you in a very textured and controlled way into a very nice depth"
