Non-detachable also allows you to safely walk jump, move, with your IEMs out, hanging from your neck or ears. You don't have to worry that ear piece would fall off on the stage

Okay, thank you for that info! I'll be ordering some lovely non-detachable Music Ones next month, then! :)

So, I have a dog, 9 months old Border Terrier. One of the cutest dogs in the world (of course I'm saying it because he is my dog :happy_face1:). So I am walking with him pretty much 2-3 hours every day. Forests, parks etc.

This morning when I was out with him I missed my Music One delivery :frown: Going to collect the package tomorrow or the day after. Early impressions will be about build quality and fit then after I get used to the ciems and be sure that I am getting a good seal, I will try to give sound impressions too.

Needless to say, I am super excited.

Also, the communication with Peter was more than excellent. All I can say about his customer service is:

We've discussed it few pages back but it's a test of actual 1010 case.

TL;DW - your IEMs are safe only after first shot from shotgun from 25ft.

I'm so sad to see that the new Pelican cases don't say they're made in Torrance anymore... :(

(Or is it just that the one I have wasn't made there?)

Still...

It's a personal thing. I'm from there.

It's sad... Toyota Motor Co. had its headquarters there for decades, and suddenly decided to move to Texas.

It also took the Gov. Rick Perry to make a personal pitch to them. Nissan also left over a decade ago. But Honda is staying put.

Anyway, this is all OT... sorry for derailing.

I've been using Music One since yesterday. Unfortunately I have a lot of things to study so I am currently busy but I will try to post some impressions tonight (Eu time).

Fit and finish are very good. I am getting a superior isolation than my old SE5way, that is being remolded by Peter right now because of my fit issues. Finish is also very good, I can't find any fault on the monitors. I chose the white cable, it is not braided. While it is user friendly, I wish the Y splitter was positioned a bit lower. Normally when I am out I put the ciems in a way that the cable and the Y splitter will stay behind my head and next to my back but when I am using it with my computer I just let the cable fall behind my ear directly downward, so it is still on the front side of my body. At this position the splitter seems a bit too close my face/chin. Also, the cable color is really white, I suggest you to take a look at the pictures before you decide. Now I wish I had chosen the clear one :D

I especially like the seal. It made me realize how bad was my fit with my old SE5way. Obviously no surprise that the bass response was horrible with them, especially the right ear. So far, I am extremely happy with Peter's work.

As for the sound, early impressions is the only thing I can give. I can say, you wouldn't believe they are single BA monitors and the price is that cheap. Very balanced, musical, quite 3D presentation while putting the mids upfront.

I will try to write more tonight but long story short, I can't find anything bad against them. We might be looking at biggest ciem bargain of the century. Sure some things could be better but at this price I can't complain.

Plus, you get the best customer service I seen in my life. Peter is more than a businessman. He is a like friend, taking care of everything, offering different solutions, coming up with new ideas etc etc. With this Music One and SE5way remold, he definitely earned a lifelong customer and a friend with me. It just couldn't be any better. He is definitely doing a perfect job.

I definitely don't understand why music one owners don't talk more about them. Perhaps, like us Amberozl, they were in exams biggrin.gif

I'm completely in love with that mono BA that is completely incredible for a single armature : musical (a lot ! ), aggressiveless and yet precise with a touch of tridimensionality that is deeper than wider with a good feeling of emotion through the note intensity.

But, all is not perfect though it is the best bang for the bucks I never heard. First of all, with complex tracks, with many instruments, the music one lacks of dynamics and has some difficulties to be detailed and extended (especially the bass sustainment). Lack of dynamics is here sensitive, but the music one stays very enjoyable. When I want a non critical music session I just prefer my music one to my EM32 that are very sensitive to bad mastering and lack of dynamics (loudness war inside). The music one are just more permissive and nice with bad tracks and that's cool smily_headphones1.gif

If the Harmony 8 has the same sound signature (especially in the mids and high mids) I'm more than impatient to have more money saved for them !!!

Ok here I am, just before going to sleep I will try to give some more impressions. This time I will try to focus on sound as I am getting more used to the signature.

Well, first thing is first, right now, in my ears, I have a very musical ciem with great balanced audio reproduction. It has a little bit of everything and it does push a lot from that single driver. In fact, sometimes it makes you wonder is it really a single driver.

Starting with the classical bass/mid/treble:

Bass; it is there, nice, clean, pretty linear. It doesn't kick like a mule, it doesn't give the very deep rumble feeling. Unless you listen to bass heavy tracks, it should satisfy very well. When it comes to bass heavy tracks, you can sometimes miss a bit more presence on the low end. Don't forget it is a single BA driver ciem, so to be fair, I don't expect it to match with dynamic drivers or multi BA's bass capabilities. Good news is, Peter managed to tune it in a way that you actually feel somethings happening in the low region, that nice feeling is there, it is not missing. It is just not as hard as high end rivals. Extension is pretty good, maybe not perfect but for this price and single BA technology, I think it wouldn't be fair to ask more here. To put it simply, you get a nice linear clean deep bass. Not the strongest but for not-bass heavy songs, it should satisfy pretty much everyone.

Mids; the shining point of this little diamonds. The balance is awesome in here. Combinations with lows end highs are specially good. So the sound is mid centric to my ears, I would say mid forward actually. There is enough thickness and clarity. Not overly bright or not overly thick. The balance in between is awesome. Again Peter did a very good job in here. For a single BA ciem, Music One gives very detailed midrange without sacrificing from musicality. In one word the mids are "excellent".

Treble; surprise surprise. Being a person who is very sensitive to treble and doesn't like bright / ear raping trebles, I am kinda in love with Music One's treble region. I must say treble note weight is extremely natural and the brightness is just spot on. I would call it slightly on the bright side but extremely enjoyable and balanced, with a sense of air and sparkly flavor. Just like the rest of the spectrum, the treble is also very balanced. I don't hear a big dip or peak either. Very successful. I have to admit, I was scared about the treble of Music One. I know myself, I don't really like hot trebles but Music One created a very nice balance in here, giving a sense of brightness but in musical way with very natural reproduction. It doesn't disturb or tiring me at all. It is actually easy on my ears and let me enjoy the music.

I was expecting mids to be the best part of the spectrum but actually treble got me by surprise. Very natural reproduction in here. Definitely fell in love with it. After passing the bass/mid/treble trio, let's go to the presentation.

Presentation; well it doesn't have the largest soundstage. It is actually quite 3D. I think there is more depth than width. Whole spectrum is magically balanced and the links between lows-mids-highs are excellent. I am talking about one hell of a job in here. I mentioned it before, midrange presentation is forward. It blends nicely with the both ends of the spectrum and let the musicality take over. The monitors are basically telling you to sit comfortably, close your eyes and enjoy the tune. Dynamics are a bit lacking here. Sorry to say with fast paced, complex music, Music One might not be your best monitors. While they don't sound muddy or congested, they don't sound the best either. Obviously you shouldn't expect it to compete against 1k+ ciems but in its price range, I don't think Music One has many rivals, given the extra comfort and the isolation of custom iems. In fact, from the musicality point of view, Music One can match against several hundreds euros more expensive c/iems. So, I take my hat off in front of Peter, for making this single BA magic.

TL/DR: Music One does more than audio reproduction, it creates emotions while playing your songs. Balanced across the whole spectrum, very detailed, mid centric presentations just calls for you to close your eyes and listen to music.

That's my journey with incredible Music One so far. Would I wish a few things more from it? Sure why not, a bit more bass power and rumble could be nice (considering they will be my main gym ciems). Also they could maybe handle a bit better the complex music but let's face it from this price with only single BA driver, I fear to ask more from it. It gives more than it should, punches way above its price point.

Again I mentioned several times, Peter does an outstanding job in customer service. I don't want to repeat myself a lot but this kind sir should get an award or something. I am afraid that he will ship the SE5way remold with a personal jet or something :D Seriously though, I think we exchanged hundreds of emails, countless questions of mine and countless answers from him. Always polite, always suggestive and providing more than one solutions. I can't recommend him enough. I am a person who can't really choose or decide when there are multiple options like designing a ciem. Peter, thank you so much for bearing it with me, I am sure not everybody would be as responsive and understanding like you are.

So, my friends and fellow headfiers, I studied all day long, I am really tired, if you excuse me, I would like to enjoy Music One a bit more and sleep. Hope my impressions would be helpful to a lot of people. :beerchug:
