Happy owner of a pair of Music One since early February, I find them delicious :)

I'm so impressed with these that I think reshelling them in acrylic-silicone shelled with removable cable ! If it's possible the Music One would be my favorite CIEM for outdoor :)

tomscy2000 very persuasively convinced me that a pair of Music Ones is going to be my choice for on-stage performance IEMs-- just made my audiologist appointment :)

Is there any disadvantages to having removable cables? I would think they could only be beneficial, but I obviously could always use advice from wiser, more experienced folks!

The thing most likely to go wrong with IEMs is the cables.  Detachable cables (assuming they are done well) is always beneficial for long term use.

The breakage point is usually the connector though. Fixed cables are less likely to have issues at the housings. That being said, it's just human nature to feel better with removable cables. I went with fixed on my Music Two but will go removable if I ever get another silicone ciem- if for no other reason than piece of mind and being able to run it balanced.

Fixed cables avoid you to chase after some new expensive aftermarket cables. ... :-D

I'd say for stage use non-detachable> detachable. We have had several cases of broken sockets on detachable IEMs and only one report of cutting off non-detachable.
Non-detachable also allows you to safely walk jump, move, with your IEMs out, hanging from your neck or ears. You don't have to worry that ear piece would fall off on the stage
