This is the best words describing Pro330. I agree with this. Pro330 are faster, revealing (monitoring quality) . Bass no boomy and muddy, vocals are superb and treble are very extensions. Separation is awesome.

Thank Piotr for a very good IEM,
exactly hit in my liking.

I did some measurements today with 75 Ohm attenuator in line.

Here are my conclusions:

Additional impedance (75 Ohm) attached to Pro330 results in overall increase in bass between 10-100Hz by about 3db

also there's decrease in range 1,5kHz-5kHz by 3db and further 4-8dB decrease in 5kHz - 10kHz. 10kHz+ is untouched compared to original.

On ear Pro330 starts to sound quite bass heavy and a bit muddy in fact.

So to sum up - Pro330 behaves in opposite way to popular believe on output impedance of the player.

Has anyone tried the IEM cables from CustomArt? Have yet to see anyone post about those.

are you happy with it?

I just added an amp so the SQ changed quite a bit. I need to A/B a bit more to get a better impression.

ok thanks, keep us posted! :)

i'll pick up an ak100 in a couple of days if everything goes right

Been listening with and without an amp for the whole of last night.

With only the AK100 and the 330, the SQ is just like what piotr said; it gets a bit muddy. Not by much but it is discernable. I use this combo when I commute, so it doesn't bother me. I will probably mod my AK100 when I get a chance to visit Mezzohifi in Bangkok.

In my opinion the AK100 is a flawed player. I sold my RWAK100 after 1 week of use. To me it sounds too sterile, no dynamic, cold, lacking punch and overly large soundstage. If you have extra budget you better off with AK120. They fix everything that were wrong in AK100. Probably even the DX50 will be a better choice than the AK100..

I assume that you already heard dx50? What are your impressions than?

Maybe but the law of dimishing returns places the AK120 way out of my reach. :P

I haven't. That is why I said "probably". It's not difficult to best the AK100. My iMod 4G + iQube combo is still better than the RWAK100 while playing standard redbook format.
