What if you could only have one headphone....or two. What would you choose? - Page 10

As of right now, if I could only have one, it would have to be my modded Fostex T50rp. Mostly because of it's high isolation. I have a window AC in my listening room that has been running a lot lately and I can hear it through my Q701, but it's almost inaudible with my T50rp's on.

I'm pretty happy with my current gear, but if I could only own only one or two headphones for the rest of eternity, I'd choose different gear from what I have. I'm sure the gear I choose below has its limitations, too, but I'd take the chance that there is more upside than downside given what I have now.

I must have a headphone that gives me isolation, so I'd get the JH13s. My ACS T1s are good, but I understand that the JH are a level above in terms of detail and impact.

For a second headphone, I'd want the Stax SR-009. I love the detail of my Grado PS1000s, but want better versatility in a headphone I'd have for ever.

Of all the headphones I have listened, own and have owned the Audio Technica ATH-A900X are the pair I would choose.

Yes they beat the Denon D5000s, in overall sound that is, the D5000s are more comfortable.

For me, one headphone means that it has to be versatile, easy to drive, and portable. As far as I know (this is my dream headphone!) I would go with MDR-R10.

I would choose HD800 as my second headphone.

It has great sound, can be used "on the go" as well. It wouldn't be my first choice for a portable, but if I could only have one, then that one.

I haven't heard the big Fostex, might be another contender for my one headphone only selection.

Grüße!

I forgot posting if I could have 2.

Senn 26-Pro for portable (In fanboy mode right now about these)
Big stax and a <30 Hz subwoofer for home use.

SR-009s...just so damn good. I could live with them and only them very happily and give up portability.

If I could own two, I really like the versatility and balanced sound of the PSB M4U 2 or the Sennheiser Momentum.  All my bases covered with these two. Stunning home rig and great versatile portable cans.

One:  PX100

Two:  GR07

For one:Hard one. but ultimately my Qjays. Does it all and fits best with most of my songs.Awesome with complys. And can use it everywhere even when sleeping.

If two: Wooduo's and Qjays. Wooduo gets me the thump that none of my headphones can deliver. Great fun. Qjays see above.

Fostex TH 900. I'd like the best sound 1st then worry about everything else  later. Also I don't need to break the bank for an amp to drive them because they sound great on almost decent headphone amp.

Apple ear phone..:)because free

If I had a choice between 2. They would have to be the "Sennheiser HD800s" and the "Sony MDR-1R". Home and portable bliss.

If I could have (or even just try) 1 headphone, the "Stax SR-009's" would be my choice by a staggering margin.

The D600 have excellent isolation also and super comfy.  Just a suggestion for a future pair..
