Will the beats by dre solo cable work on this ath m50 mod?

Once the headphone has been refitted to be able to swap 3.5mm cables, it can certainly work with any Beats cable with a microphone.
I've no idea about the impact on sound quality, but there shouldn't be much of a difference.  The original cable is nothing special.

what im slightly confused about is the modded part of the m50s.  From what you see on that site, is the part that plugs into the headphones a 3.5mm slot?  Im confused because it says something about a twist to lock and im not sure what that means.  Sorry for these extremely noobie questions but i dont know much about headphones.
