Yes, that was eye opening!

Great sound by spending real big on the amp and the DAC and not spending a massive pile of cash on the headphones.

Makes me want to see what happens if I upgrade my DAC and maybe my amp. wink_face.gif

I would actually prefer that Mjolnir also offers an SE output. Having only balanced outputs forced me to change the cable on my HD650.
Now I can never find out how much of the improvement I'm hearing comes from the amp and whether the cable plays any role.

Unfortunately the Mojo has a rather different topology: you can only use it in a balanced mode output.

Quite different than the Bryston, for example.

Loved the sound of the HD800 and the Hifiman HE-6 (need a monster amp to drive these well).

Thank you for the comments on the T1, Woo Audio, Anedio D2. Just as a heads up, I am selling the Woo Audio amplifier and the beyer T1s. Will be lisitng in the classifieds shortly. Let me know if anyone's interested.

Don't get me wrong it sounded fine I just don't think it is worth it unless you are going to get into a higher end dac/amp combo.

Unless you got your 800s for a good price. Which I did, so there. Also, the bifrost is limited compared to the Lyr. I heard her on a better DAC and the Lyr sang like never before. Waithing on Schiits DAC upgrades to see what they're about.

Also, you have to spend on tubes to have the lyr shine.

I ordered the Bifrost Uber analog upgrade (getting really good feedback on the that thread)  and a set of Amperex 1967 Orange Globes.  Not a bad place to start with the HD800.  I also have a PS Audio DLIII in my main AV system that I may try again... never ending journey...cool.gif

hahaha sigh... i AM tempted. this is where you guys all say 'sorry for your wallet'. But we all gotta start somewhere right? If not the HD800... i might just settle for the LCD-2 as an upgrade from my HD650s...

Looking to move to Stax as I prefer the sound signature.

It might seems to be off topic here, but I do saw some DIY amps and cables lying around.

Can anyone give me some good shops in Toronto for that sort of things?

Connectors, wires, Y splitters, sleeves etc, etc~~~~~

For cables and connectors try The Parts Connexion.

Ahhhh!
Not a fan of peaky, distorted treble! LOL!tongue.gif
BTW, this comment is really directed at any dynamic headphone. They all seem to suffer from this, or roll it off.

Why are you selling the Anedio?

Along the same lines, given the yen drop lately, I have checked price japan, and there are some great deals.  Stax SR009 for $3500, Fostex TH900/600 for $1500/800, Fitear Togo334 for $1100, and a whole lot more.

That said, I still can't afford them.
