I am probably going to be selling my Horizon at some point though, as my desk really needs the space and the WA7 just looks so nice.

interesting to see that the horizon stands up well compared to the WA7

Pity your Horizon is 110v as we are on 230v here and im looking to get one

My Horizon has a switching power supply... the power supply label says 110-240AC

The Crack is hands down superior for driving the said OP can's. Even better with the speedball upgrade.

Have you heard both of them (Horizon and Crack) and actively compared them?

No I haven't heard the Horizon but I have built 4-5 Sunrises and I currently own a modified Crack. The only advantage I can think of for the Horizon is it's ability to drive low impedence can's properly which the Crack is not good at as it was designed for high ohm can's such as Beyer and Senn's.

I'm curious. I don't know the Crack amp. I've Googled it and found the schematic. It seems to be OTL. I have a LD MKiii. Would they be similar?

Similar concept but different implementation and parts used.

I don't have power figures for the Crack, but here are the published (garage1217.com) power figures for the Horizon and the newly released Ember.

Ember Power Specs

LEAD Technologies Inc. V1.01

Horizon PowerSpecs

LEAD Technologies Inc. V1.01

So obviousy there is enough power here to blow the voice coils into your head. I'm sure that the Crack is likewise.

Any have (can get) the specs for the Crack?

Would you be able to describe the subjective differences with the specific headphones you tested it with.  In what ways do you feel it's better?  I'd be most curious about the comparison with the Brainwavz HM5's (if that's a possibility).
