Good Cheap Headphone amp?

Hey guys I am looking for a headphone amplifier to power my 250 ohm dt 880s and was curious what would be a good amp on ebay or amazon under $100 (used is fine too) I see a lot of made cmoys from companies saying the power 600 ohm headphones or ones with a single tube keeping it relatively cheap and was wondering if there are any brand name ones or any specific cmoys anyone knows of i can get used or new on ebay in my budget! Thanks Guys!! (:

FiiO e07k works well for my friends 880s (250 ohm)

o2 and magni fall under that price range.  Both seem to show up on the BST forum regularly.

I have never heard either though... just passing along the info.

Fiio E11 in that price range. Around $60 most places (I bought mine from B&H.  I have only used Fiio products, which I think are great.  Might want to check out the "10 Amps under $100 shootout" thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/596482/the-sub-100-portable-amps-shootout-10-1-amps-compared

I'll check out that and pick something or the o2 seems pretty awesome and i wodner if the e11 is enough for the dt 880 pros

Theoretically it is, but the E11 is only supposed to power 300 ohms.

Unfortunately I haven't tried my friends 880s with my E11.

The E11 is excellent for portability and remains pretty neutral.

The E11 just barely powers my 880 Pro's. I'd look into the C&C BH as well, in your price range, lots of power and popular here as well!

@TrollDragon, yeah that is what I presumed as the E11 only goes to 300 ohms

Yes indeed, but the E11 with bass boost on 1 (2 is too muddy) really drives my Ultrasone HFI-780's very well.

I would suggest a Schiit Magni, but if want something a bit more portable than I would go for the O2 amp by JDS Labs.  The only thing I don't like about the O2 is that it doesn't have a 1/4" jack but instead has a 3.5mm.

Yea I might get a laptop to replace my desktop making it easier for me to possibly select a dac right now im thinking an O2, fiio e17, or a fiio e09k, or try to look harder into those random built ones on ebay that claim to power 600 ohm headphones but im still not for sure yet

But just in case i Don't get a laptop i still am interested in amps more so i can drive it out of my iphone instead of always needing a computer

I have the E17/E09K combo for my DT880 Pro's, it works very well as a desktop amp and DAC when the E17 is docked. The E17 is a great little portable by itself too. A good pair to look into.

Yeah that seems like a good option im still tied on e17, e09k, schiit magni, schiit modi, O2 or even this built cmoys on ebay they really keep getting me convinced! Here are a few:

So i have no idea on what to think of these haha but i gotta research longer, my dt 880s will be here in a couple days and i want to find something! (:

Personally I would stay away from the cheap novelty looking little tube amps, I think you are just asking for trouble if somthing goes wrong with them and takes out your headphones. Same with the backyard looking cmoy builds. Just my opinion but I could he wrong.
