Quest to find open/comfortable/bass headphones?

Hi All -

My main headphones have been the Sennheiser HD-280 pros for the past 7 years. I got them while in college to prevent waking my roomie up at night and used their fold-up design to throw around when I traveled.  While I love Sennheiser, the headphones get uncomfortable pretty quick and lack the bass I want.  I also own the HD-497's and HD-485's, but feel I'm due for an update.

I'm looking for a new set of cans that meet the below criteria:

1. Open cans

2. Have solid Bass (not overwhelming though)

3. Comfort!  I'll be wearing these for PC gaming and music listening

4. Cost - I'd like to keep this under $180 USD

5. Good without an amp - I really don't know a ton about amp's - I'm not using these cans outside the home and am open to recommendations if necessary, but I'd prefer to avoid the setup to keep costs down.

I've been very loyal to Sennheiser in the past, but I'm certainly open to other makes.

All help/guidance greatly appreciated :)
