l'oreal and acer hover over, sound and popup ads

Guys,

I can appreciate you need to generate money to keep this site in operation, ive ran a few large websites and i understand this better than most.

Can I just say these hover over l'oreal and acer adverts are totally out of place and more than a little irritating. I am absolutely stunned you felt these were relevant and useful to the readership.

ads with sound, popups and advertising hair products really are going to harm headfi, even if you make a high return on impressions/clicks. I accidentally clicked it after hearing the audio more than once.

Completely ruined my experience here today, when in reality adverts should be relevant to the content and not interfere with the enjoyment of using the site.

Work with advertisers you know will appeal to the readership and please remove popups and audio ads. I didn't even think a site with this kind of excellent reputation would need this feedback. Its 2013, not 1994, when you could get away with this kind of advertising.

I dont want to block all the ads, but if these stay in place, I will and I would imagine many others will follow suit.

One audio advert followed me down to my PC every time I accessed the browser I would have  blasting music over my PC speakers.

IT might seem drastic but you can if you spend a bit of time uninstalling EVERY active X program -And yes it took me a while as they were all over the  place .

You do lose out on things you want to watch on the Web but the choice is yours.

Like Zardon I don t mind static adverts  but how can you concentrate on the site if moving objects are jumping about at the corner of your vision?

I agree, they are obnoxious. Unfortunately I don't have any control over the ads, but I've filed a complaint with Huddler about it.

Well lets hope someone listens. I like to support the site and even click on some of the ads which relate to audio equipment from time to time. I think when things are forced too heavily on the user, it has a counter productive effect.

Appreciate your time with this.
