Samsung Galaxy S (i9000) w/ Cyanogenmod 10.1 has weak volume for my M50's - any suggestions?

Hi,

I recently bought a used Galaxy S. I really like the phone and I read somewhere prior to buying it that it has a decent audio chip so I was pretty happy. I wasn't getting the phone mainly for listening to music but I still considered it important. I installed the latest Cyanogenmod (not sure if this is unrelated but after googling I didn't notice people complaining so I don't think it is) and when I got to listening music I enjoyed the quality but I was disappointed in the volume. It's not terribly quiet, I just wish it could go 2 or 3 notches higher when you felt like listening to some loud music.

I'm aware of the option of buying a Fiio e3, but I don't like the idea of having to replace a battery every 20 hours of play time and having to carry it around.

Are there any other alternatives? Thanks!

Have you tried the Voodoo sound App?

Like the above poster suggests.  You should install Voodoo and you will notice a big difference in Volume.  Once installed just slide the "Headphone amplifier" higher basshead.gif

Holy crap! Thank you guys! I tried some other applications but they distorted the sound and it was unbearable! I don't know how exactly this app works but it's louder and the sound is great!

Thank you!

Voodoo tweaks the Wolfson DAC in the I9000 provides more voltage to the amp, gives you analogue gain control from -57 to +4db to give the very best possible sound from that DAC/Amp combo. The App was created by Supercurio and it digs deep down into the kernal and phones hardware to make the changes... most other Apps don't do that.

I'm glad it's working well for you. Enjoy! :)
