Open on-ears - Sennheiser HD239 or Yamaha HPH-200??

Hi!

I decided that I need open on ears for the office. Pulling out my in-ears every time someone wants to speak to me is as inconvenient as taking off my beloved Ultrasones Pro 750s all the time. Plus they might look a tad intimidating.

Now. I can get the Yamaha HPH-200 or the Sennheiser HD239. Which ones should I get and why?

Naturally I like to support the underdog, however Yamaha as a company is much bigger than Sennheiser. Plus I am German. So is it Sennheiser naturally? Also love my 598s (at home).

Sigh, decisions, decisions. Especially with the sparse info about the Yamahas....

Please help,
K

Ok,

My dilemma:

I tested the HD239 - ended up buying them, loved their sound. You get what you expect from a Sennheiser in that price range. It's a rocksolid performer, no doubt. Some say, it's the best on-ear open headphone.

Then I tested the Yamaha HPH-200 a week later and was blown away. And for a price of around $97 I couldn't resist and bought them too. They are phenomenal headphones for the price. To my ears, the Yamaha wins, by a small margin if you compare the too. I really wonder why they are not more popular. For the price they are a steal.

Cheers,

K
